Another example the mainstream media wants Tesla dead. The batteries don’t just “die” in cold weather. If that’s the case, Tesla would have failed in Norway already.
I see a lot of these Teslas on TV are Model 3s with fleet plates which means they’re Hertz rentals. A lot of renters don’t know...
This thread is for the general discussion of the marketplace listing Free! One 2018 Model 3 Sports Wheel with center caps. Please add to the discussion here.
They were used on a 2018 Model 3. Factory size (235-45-18). 433 mhz TPMS sensors and aero covers included. Minor curb rashes. Used for 4 seasons (November to March). Tons of treads left. Local pick up in Chicagoland area. $800.
Just want to post this again in a local group. Admin if not allowed, please delete.
I have a set of 2018 Model 3 Maxpider 3D mats and a Tesla trunk mat available for sale. Below is the thread with picture...
They were used in a 2018 Model 3.
Maxpider mats are in good condition. I’m just too lazy to scrub them. $100.
Tesla trunk mat has some scratches. $50.
Sorry local pick up only. Chicagoland.
I had a similar incident back in 2019. Quarter panel got replaced and door repaired. Spent 1.5 months in the shop mainly waiting for parts. Body shop invoice showed $7000. Luckily I got everything on camera and the other party admitted fault.
avs007 pretty much sums it up. Yes I’ve seen a slight hit in range but only noticeable if you really look at the numbers everyday. I’ve also done road trips with both set of tires and seen negligible difference in range. Lots more tire choices with the bigger size. Very little loss and a lot of...
Hello. For those of you in the northern United States or in Canada who just recently took delivery of a new Model S with 19” Tempest wheels, what all season tires does your car come with? I chatted with Tesla and they said it varies and still was not able to tell me the brands. Thanks!
Yes you can tap the globe 🌎 icon to manually switch between satellite and normal map but it supposed to switch automatically when the car switches to night/day mode.
My car has been doing that even before the reboot. I’ve discussed this issue in another thread.

One day it just decided to do it and now it does that occasionally. There’re no toggle switch...
It happened to our Model 3. All driver profiles, homelink, saved locations gone. It even set a glovebox PIN by itself (we never had one set up). After reading some posts, it looks like it happened more often in recent software updates. I wouldn’t worry too much.
I post this in the for sale section but will post here again because I’m looking for a local sale in the Chicagoland area.
$10 each. Either of them fits my Model 3 and Model Y. I bought them from seatextenderpors.com. Very well built. Date of manufacture is Jan 2021. I’ll throw in the red...
I can ship but I’m not sure how much shipping would be. $10 to $15 maybe? It might be a better deal for you if you buy new? If you’re still interested, pm me.
$10 each. Either of them fits my Model 3 and Model Y. I bought them from seatextenderpors.com. Very well built. Date of manufacture is Jan 2021. I’ll throw in the red thing if you want. See pictures for its use. Local sales only. Will not ship. Chicagoland area.
I’m pretty sure you can do that now. My understanding is that a change was made recently by the DMV to allow EVs to carry a normal passenger plate and still get billed the higher EV registration fee. But you might need to physically go to the DMV to transfer I’m not sure. Before this change, all...
Oops I meant to type “tap on the screen”.
The fact that I need to tap my screen to wake the phone and unlock the car is silly. Yes that sounds like it’s the phone’s issue. But I cannot explain why it happened with the Y wayyyy more often than the 3. The 3 is 3 years older than the Y.
We have a 2018 model 3 and a 2021 model Y. Both bought new. We’ve used numerous iPhones over the years from iPhone 7 to now iPhone 13 pro. For the past 4 years, I always have the app running. Never swiped it away. Bluetooth always on. Phone in front pocket. Etc etc. Basically we’ve done...
Why would this be an user error? If it was designed properly, nothing would need to be done besides changing the cabin filters. And the car would not stink. Are you really expecting an ordinary joe who doesn’t go on forums to do all those?
This is obviously a design flaw. Tesla probably didn’t...
I keep the AC off in winter unless it’s raining or snowing. Temperature set to 70 and fan speed set to 2. Never pre-condition before I drive.
I started to notice the smell about 2 weeks ago (AC off). It rained A LOT last week in Chicago and as soon as I turned on the AC, the smell became...
The smell is back. It’s not even a year or 9000 miles yet. So it was BS again that the filters cause the smell.
Got some generic filters from Amazon for $13 (2 pack). Will just use these cheaper filters and change more frequently.
I totally get what you said because I felt the same. I got them in February. Initial impression was excellent. They did very well in colder weather and on snow. Now the weather is getting warmer and the tires are starting to feel weird. Maybe “gummy”? I get it they’re more of a grand touring...
In a Tesla Forum, 80% of posts are people complaining about issues and services. But when you open a thread in the same forum asking “should I buy a XXX vehicle over a Tesla”, the answers are usually overwhelming “buy a Tesla”! So yeah you probably should not rely of the forum too much to make a...
I’m surprised by this. It says “all electric vehicles are no longer required to have electric plates in the electric vehicle”. Does that mean when we get a new EV we can apply for a regular plate instead of the EV plate and pay the regular fee instead of $251?
I actually like the EL plate. Yes...
We also love our Y and 3. Having the ability to control 2 cars in the same app under the same account is convenient. But would absolutely try an EV from another brand. In fact, we have a Rivian on order (for now) to replace the 3 in a couple years. The 3 is too small. If the Rivian is no go...
We have a 3LR and a Y LR. If unfortunately either one is totaled (knocking on wood), we’ll replace it with a different color MYP. I still think the 3 is too small.
Also note that the CC2 in 255-45-20 offer NO rim protection. The edge of the tire sits flush with the rim.
The Vredestein offers some rim protection as you can see in post 25 in this thread.
Multiple people told me that an EV will just combust for no reasons and probably burn down my house if it’s parked in the garage. And that I should probably get rid of it.
I also took the plunge and replaced my stock Goodyear with the Crossclimate 2 in 255-45-20. The day after I put them on, we had 8 inches of snow and it’s a night and day difference driving in snow compared to the stock Goodyears.
On dry pavements, the ride is softer thanks to the taller...
Got an Ioniq hybrid (not the Ioniq 5 EV) rental last Christmas and I was actually very impressed with its driver assist. It’s on par with basic autopilot if not better. WAY better than Toyota’s and Honda’s.
Get the Gypsy app!
I can’t speak about charging but last year we went to Yellowstone driving our ICE, we used the Gypsy app to get around in the park. It’s GPS based and it’s like having a personal tour guide. Connect your phone to the cars Bluetooth and it will tell you places you would not...
Right maybe I should not have suggested that. I’m just saying if the OP’s statement is true, driving 10 miles makes the battery goes from 80% to ~60%, that just doesn’t seem right. OP, what’s the wh/mi in that 10 miles?
If this is true, I’d get the car checked out.
I’m in Chicago, too. I also charge to 80% at 258 miles. My one way to work is 30 miles. The car would have around 200 miles left. Sometimes lower when it’s very cold out.
