    Any option for parts runaround?

Long time member, rare poster, but I'm definitely searching for some help here. I've got a 2019 M3 with shot control arms. Car sounds like an un-oiled battleship door over every bump. I opened a service request through the app as follows: Opened request Feb 11. Service confirmed they would...

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

But you did not note the second part of my "assumption" which is based on efficiency as well. Assuming a 50% reduction in efficiency based on the cold, my 12-mile drive would use 24 miles of range with no preconditioning. So preconditioning using 22 miles of range plus assuming I get 100%...

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

OK, I probably should have phrased that a bit differently. I don't want to use that much power. Definitely doesn't matter where it comes from. I've been OK with just flipping on the climate ten minutes before I leave. It's been A-OK for me.

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

I didn't leave it plugged in that night, which I'm glad about. I'd rather not have used that much wall power to have the car preheating for an hour for a 20 minute drive. I'm going to pass on using this for the moment then. I can wake the car a few minutes before I leave manually and it will...

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

Yeah. NJ is cold (teens) but not frigid. I lived in Vermont for 6 years. That qualified as cold to me!

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

Re-adjusting to my M3. Back when I had my MS in 2017 this wasn't even available... So scheduled departure. Used it this morning. Leave at 5 AM, so set that as my departure time. Car was nice and toasty and happy. But looking at the numbers, I don't know if it's worth it. It looks like the...

    2021 M3 RWD or 2019 M3 AWD?

    Made up my mind.

    2021 M3 RWD or 2019 M3 AWD?

I know, I hate these questions...I'm sorry in advance. Just contemplating. I can pick up a 2021 M3 RWD or a 2019 AWD. I can't swing a 2021 AWD. I hate buying new because I know realistically I only keep cars for 2-3 years. If I buy the 2019, it's direct from Tesla, so it comes with the...

Disappointed with cold-soak battery range (no garage) Or is it just me?

Part of my Tesla thinking was to even minimize my home electric usage during charging since I have good destination charging at work. My electric isn't super cheap, so my thinking was just use it as little as possible. So that's the only reason. I had a bit of a pie in the sky vision to...

Disappointed with cold-soak battery range (no garage) Or is it just me?

I've had my MS 75D for a few months. Got it late summer. I have roughly a 15 mile commute (each way) to work. During the summer, I'd have to charge up roughly 1-2x per week depending on what errands I ran outside of work. Wasn't a big deal. Now that it's been getting cold-ish (we have had a...

    Manhattan Parking Garages

I've been super super happy with my monthly spot which is in Columbus Circle. They have two Tesla chargers and take very good care of me and my car. They are technically under the time warner center. And my car usually has good company

    Tesla lighted T

Just FYI, I have a rear lighted T for my car I purchased, but won't be able to install it for a while, so I'd be happy to sell it. Message me if interested. My car is a facelift 2016.

Yep, that's about right. So you're looking at 2600 in hand for me, little too high. Would still absolutely love these though..if you can wiggle on the price PM me and maybe we can work something out

    Recommendations for spoiler source?

I have a hard time paying the $1500 for an OEM spoiler right to Tesla, but I also know that the knockoffs can be pretty poor too. I've dealt with bad fit and finish and other horror stories. So looking for recommendations on a nice spoiler at a reasonable price. Close to OEM style, and...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I spoke to my local SC. They came right back, said I was eligible and advised it could take 2 hours. If i had availability it could be done this week, but I need to wait until next Saturday. My VIN seems to be one of the earliest so far, 150XXX

Hard braking with TACC in stop-n-go traffic

I don't get the ABS kicking in, but definitely have noticed some inconsistent braking. I drive home from NYC daily and spend a good 60-90 minutes in stop and go. Used to be very smooth, but about 1/3 of the time the braking is hard enough to send my bag sliding off of the front seat. My...

    XPEL full front question

Just to be clear, there is no such thing as a ceramic wrap. Ceramic protection is a coating like wax and is mostly a cosmetic paint protection from dirt and stains, but generally won't offer much, if any protection, from rock chips or scrapes.

SuperCharging Idle Fee at Service Center

I can't speak from experience of getting smacked with an idle fee, but my local SC (Paramus, NJ) has an 8 stall supercharger where I occasionally go for a quick top off, but beyond that, but the service area they have 6 or so HPWC's that they use specifically for the service area.

    XPEL full front question

I went to a top notch xpel installer by me. I've had them do two of my Audis, and the bulk of their cars are 6 figure+ cars, so they know their stuff. I will tell you a few noteworthy things. First, they never use the precut film. They do it on the fly and it's flawless. Second, xpel has...

One Tire With Slow Leak, replace 1 or all 4?

Wanted to follow up with the closure on this. This week I managed to calculate that the tire was losing about 5 lbs/day. Went to the dealer today and turns out my TPMS sensor was broken and leaking. So after all that, all it cost me was an hour of my time.

    NEMA 14-50 quotes

Lots of folks in here say "do it yourself" but unless you're comfortable with it, it's definitely NOT something you should try based on just watching a youtube video IMHO. I used a tesla-recommended electrician. Guy was fantastic to deal with, did the install for $500 and I paid for permits...

One Tire With Slow Leak, replace 1 or all 4?

I don't feel like this would be a good way to go. Having one oddball tire would, I beleive, mess with the handling and balance of the car. They are the stock tires I'm pretty sure.

One Tire With Slow Leak, replace 1 or all 4?

I'm thinking for now I will see how it is at the end of the day. If it's holding I will just fill it and then make an appointment to bring it in. Worst case if it's flat, I call roadside assistance and they hopefully can swap me out.

One Tire With Slow Leak, replace 1 or all 4?

So one of my tires seems to have developed a slow leak. I'm debating about how best to handle it. My car has 11k on it, and the tires are about 7/32" depth, so they aren't worn out. But one new tire with full depth is going to be pretty drastic. So what do you think I should do? Beyond...

    XPel and ceramic coating installed!

I looked at some of the others, but when I found the installer and they said they exclusively do Expel, that sold me enough to try it. They had a line of 6 figure cars getting it done. I had some nasty scratches that healed themselves. In terms of yellowing...doesn't happen. My last car was...

    XPel and ceramic coating installed!

I've been an XPel fan since I started driving into NYC daily. My brand new Subaru Forester had the paint scratched on all 4 corners from various parking garages and even people trying to walk by too closely. When it was time to replace the car I read up on XPel and had it on my last two Audis...

Just ordered a Model S 75D! Please help!!

Let me add my $.02 here. I live in NJ and commute to Midtown daily. I did the bus for a while, and the train for a while, but for the last ten years I've driven. Lots of cars, lots of learning. I started driving in a Land Rover which killed me, both with parking and gas. Since then I've had...

How to tell if switching electric plans makes sense?

It's interesting to hear @azred. So I guess they weren't crazy when they said it might not make sense. It's not a huge cost from my end even if I stay where I am with rates since 90% of the time I'm charging at work. Then again I'm also looking at Tesla Solar...:)

How to tell if switching electric plans makes sense?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but hopefully someone can help. Just recently got my MS and love it. I normally destination charge at my work's parking, but I also want to be able to charge nightly at home. I'm all wired up, but I was working with my electric company to see about their...
