My AP completely shut down with this update. In my screen I just see my car and nothing else. If I try to enable cruise control it says "Unavailable"
Called Tesla twice and they're still 'looking into it'
But they could turn off AP in that case instead of saying my features are limited. How do we know what's working and what's not working? Is it even safe to use?
It's confusing don't you think?
Ok, I managed to find the footage of the second incident.
I've edited the clip so It starts straightaway. Pay attention to how the car is trying to turn out of the lane.
Both incidents happened at similar road layouts.
Any thoughts guys?
Hey Guys,
So about a week after getting the “Autopilot features limited” warning I had a near accident using AP this week. The car tried to veer into a side barrier without any warning, and I was able to take quick control to avoid crashing. I didn’t get any take over warnings.
I’ve managed to...
Thanks for your replies.
The warning is gone now. I drove afterwards and didn't clean the car or do anything else. Everything seems working.
I have to wait until Thursday to take the car to SC.
I think its definitely a software issue. Maybe to do with the last update. I'm just nervous to use...
Hey guys,
So, out of nowhere I got this warning today.
Autopilot Features Limited; Contact Tesla if this issue continues.
The AP still works ok but the error message won’t go away. I called my local SC and they’re clueless as usual (Norway)
They told me to bring the car in after Christmas...
That's good to know. I think I'm going to start treating this car like a normal car from today making sure I'm in full control at all times and don't take any chances.
But with all the moaning this car is so ****ing amazing. I won't ever buy a another car ever again
Thank God for that. The good thing is we have the hardware so they just have to make it happen with the software.
I've tweeted to Elon. Worth a shot lol
Tesla sent me to a authorised bodyshop. They stripped the whole part and checked for damages and luckily nothing serious. The whole plastic bits need to be replaced and some paintwork is also necessary. It will set me back couple of thousands. There will be a waiting time for roughly 2 months to...
Wow that cost really made me nervous. Mine has a bigger damage than yours but only the plastic bits as far as I can see. Aluminium is not damaged.
I think this is a good wakeup call for me not to put too much trust in sensors and put trust in myself. My wife said the same thing. I was quite...
I agree with you.
I went back to the car and checked again and I can see a small black box that has come lose and some white wires also exposed. But I took the car for a drive and everythings Ok and no errors or warnings.
The acceleration is ridiculously fast so I might have hit the pedal a...
I’m not blaming Tesla. I take full responsibility. I’m driving for 12 years and not a single incident so far until today. So I do know how to drive. It’s one of those days. Since I bought the Tesla I’m super nervous driving it. All I was saying is it would have been great if the ultrasonic...
Thanks for your replies. I'm heart broken. My insurance confirmed that they will cover the cost of repairs. And yes there is no damage to the body.
Anyone has experience with the same type of damage? I have a road trip and I need to get it fixed before so wondering if this is going to take...
Hey guys, so after just owning the car for 2 days I mis judged a curb at a tight parking spot and hit my car. Here is the damage. I don't see any damage to the actual body of the car. The bottom plastic and the 2 side panels Are damaged. Now is this going to be a easy fix? Cost wise what am I...
Guys, so I took delivery of my Model X.
I have to say this is the best car I ever owned. Build quality is acceptable but not amazing. Some issues with the door panels but overall great car and drives like a dream.
I want to say thank you for your advice
Can't wait to drive to Denmark
I think before Tesla starts tracking faces and eyes they should try to add additional sensors (e.g: Lidars) and create a better redundancy for the safety of the drivers. Clearly, the cameras and radar are not sufficient enough. Whats the point of having 8 cameras when the car drives itself into...
But, That would take a lot of training before the NN learns various shapes and obstacles? From my understanding Lidar seem to give a better 3D map of the surrounding and maybe they can combine the data from lidars with what camera sees to make better decisions.
Funny you said that my wife's VW egolf has adaptive cruise control. I was using it on a 50kmph road and approached a roundabout. There was a vehicle in front of me and I kept my hands on the steering wheels and let the radars control the speed. Big mistake. As soon as the car in front went out...
Thanks for this man.
My VIN is: 928xx
Guess I'm getting it then. I don't mind waiting a few more months but this wait is already killing me. iPad Pro has spoiled me a lot lately and now I'm super happy to have a similar experience with my MX.
Roadtrip to Denmark in July will be very exciting :D
I ordered my MX end of January. My Tesla account says the car is in production. I called Tesla and DS looked at her system and said its still in "pre-production" Not sure what the difference is but I take the car is still not being "produced"?
Delivery estimation is end of May in Norway. So I...
Hey guys,
So, I was watching the Mobile eye CES2017 presentation, and I'm starting to get a little worried about the state of Teslas level 3 & 4 autopilot progress.
In the presentation, it was made very clear that it's important to have a front and rear lidar systems and we all know Elon...
In order to address my range concerns, Tesla gave me a Model X 75D to keep for one day. I charged it fully and drove around (Its proper winter here in Norway now) and I had about 300Km real-world range, (With 5 passengers, heating and some luggage) so I was very happy with the outcome.
Forgot to mention that the electricians managing power in our apartment complex started installing high power charging units. So I’m going to order one and the guy said I can draw a lot more power. So the problem is solved
Hey guys thanks so much for your input. Much appreciated. After a lot of thinking we went with the MX75D, We chose the 75 pack mainly because we realized we won’t be driving long distances much and couldn’t justify spending nearly 200,000 kroner.
We secured the offer and we got unlimited super...
Hello All,
I'm planning on buying a Tesla Model X to replace our Audi Q5 family car in 2018 Q1. I have some concerns and questions, and I hope some of you can help me with making a decision.
My wife owns a VW eGolf, and I absolutely love this car along with my Q5. The plan is to replace both...
