Unfortunately not much detail or timeline regarding the fix. They did mention that they took another car apart quite a bit to diagnose, and then got to to know it’s known by engineering already.

Drove by around 3:30pm and the new smart cushion was installed. I think the orange sign saying lane closed from last year was still there though. Also, witnessed one sedan and one pickup crossing the split area, both at speed >65mph and pretty close to the cushion. I wouldn’t be too surprised...

Drove by the other side of 101 this morning ~10:30am, and saw some workers repairing the cushion device there. I think I saw a new one on a flatbed, so the one that was hit w/o reset probably couldn't be repaired anymore. Also saw a few other guys working separately before the split location...

My SC confirmed it's a known issue with no fix yet. It sounds like all AP2.5 cars have it.

Yes it's a safety feature. IIRC it will not shift to park if you buckle up.

I believe they need the new 7 seater with foldable second row. Other configs didnt have changes AFAIK.
