Good thought. There is no difference in the noise between driving versus stationary. The noise starts the moment I turn on the AC, before anything has had a chance to heat up or over-pressurize.

Here's another data point. I turn on the AC with fan speed 1, the noise is lower. Turn the fan speed up to 2, the sound goes up, both in intensity and frequency. Up to 3, a little louder with slightly higher frequency, etc all the way up to 11.

Good suggestion. I assume the cooling fan operates independently of the AC? The noise happens only when the AC is on. As soon as I turn off the AC (either by powering off all climate, or by turning off the compressor by pushing the A/C button) the noise stops immediately.

I haven't gotten the impression it's related to the battery. The noise starts immediately when I turn on the AC compressor, and stops immediately when I turn the compressor off.

500 yards yowsers! It happens no matter the outside ambient temperature. It happens during a hot day and it happens at night when it has cooled down. It happens while supercharging, when driving, or when stationary in the garage.

Just checked the radiator. It isn't dirty or clogged. It's actually much cleaner than I was expecting.

Good advice. I'm going to give them a couple weeks because I'm busy at work and especially because I can drive for a bit without worrying about scratching my bumpers.

I took delivery 3 days ago. Wrap took 2 days which means I've only been driving it today. I have the new MCU. I have not had any issues with the screen going blank. I wonder if some have problems and others don't, or if they all have problems and I just haven't experienced it yet.

Oh great. Is it time for those of us with the new MCU to start complaining that we wish we got the old one? ha ha

Good to know. I'll consider it. Tesla is replacing my roof and both bumpers. I've already paid to have the front bumper wrapped. I may upgrade to do the roof too. Sounds like a good idea. I wonder how much a new roof costs?

In the video posted earlier in this thread, he reviews a Tesla built in the last week of February that has the upgraded MCU. I don't think he every says the exact date, but I got the impression that it was before 2/28.

Thanks for the video. I didn't get my car today so I couldn't do an official check. But I know when I scrolled the map, it was smooth like the sample on the left, not slow like the right. Seems like I got the new MCU. Very cool. The 2 month wait was excruciating. Now I'm really glad I had to wait.
