I wouldn't pay just for speed either. To me this about ensuring my new car with MCU1 isn't left behind with future enhancements and capabilities. If Tesla maintains near functional parity with MCU1/2 I'm happy enough now.

From a future proofing standpoint this is a reassuring development for someone who took recent delivery of a MS with MCU1.

I just traded a BMW at the Dania Beach, FL store using a CarMax appraisal. They were happy to take it and the CarMax offer was significantly higher than Tesla or the BMW dealer had offered on the same car.
