Anyone else with Michelin CrossClimate 2 on Model X

I'm considering "Michelin CrossClimate 2" for my Model X. However, it looks like some people report that they negative affect a car range. Did you notice any difference in range after installing CrossClimate 2?

Legacy Cars and the 2023 Holiday Update

Traffic lights/cameras - it was not in the release notes and it's not working for me (2018 MX). Online routing enabled and I have premium connectivity. My guess it's not available on legacy MX and MS. Disappointing as I don't think there a good reason for that. Unless someone has it working...

MX Holiday easter egg not starting

Hi, sorry for bringing back the old thread, but my 2018 MX has started behaving the exact same way as you described - FWD starts moving up and immediately fails. Have you finally fixed it?

    Canada - FSD rollout

In my opinion, FSD beta drives so much better than the regular Autopilot. The follow distance is perfect for me and stopping is much smoother (especially for upcoming traffic lights). I don't miss the radar at all. I drive like 90% on autopilot both in city and on highways.

    Canada - FSD rollout

That's right - it means no beta till next version. I would suggest to opt out for now to allow yourself normal driving and then opt in again with a first wave of the next version of beta.

    FSD Beta 10.12

Try driving 100 miles on autopilot if you've not done that already. Some people reported they got immediately accepted after that.

    FSD Beta 10.12

Just got Beta this weekend. Does the Chill FSD setting has the same acceleration speed? Any noticable real-life changes between these three FSD profiles?

    Canada - FSD rollout

Can someone explain what the Navigate On Autopilot button does in cities? My assumption was when you turn it on, the car would use FSD Beta and if it's off, then the car would use regular autopilot (which would allow you to only use FSD beta in selected cases). However it's apparently not true...

    Canada - FSD rollout

Got it for the first time. It's cool and impressive! The future is here guys! There were some situations where it was doing strange things, but still it's impressive. The main concern for me is how fast it goes in tight residential area (I need to constantly lower the max speed) and how fast it...

    Canada - FSD rollout

I don't have any insight or evidence. It just looks to me that all new FSD install reports stopped at the same time. If someone got the FSD version after installing 2022.8.x please report here. It will mean my assumption is wrong and there is hope (my SS is 98).

    Canada - FSD rollout

Looks like the mass update to 2022.8.x marked the end of the FSD release in Canada for now. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    New screens now available

If it's MCU1, then just upgrade to MCU2 and you'll get good color and contrast. If it's already MCU2, then color and contrast should be good already.

    Firmware 2020.44.X

I understand % offset and if I understand correctly this is the only new feature. The general behaviour is still the same. And why it's created as a totally new separate setting for that? Probably they wanted to just separate the Warning and AP max speed settings. It looks like the old "Warning...

    Firmware 2020.44.X

I don't understand what this new autopilot speed offset is. Before this update if I have Warning Speed Offset to +10km/h and turn on AP, then the max AP speed will be exactly that: speed limit +10. Why do we need the new setting? What is the difference?

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

Yes, I'm looking to see how effectively a car would determine who needs to go first through an all ways stops intersection. There would be at least 3 cars arriving at an intersection where a tesla would be the last one meaning 2 other cars have to go first. Another interesting test would be when...

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I watched most of the FSD videos, but never seen 4 way stop situations. Am I missing one? Very curious how the car would handle 4 way stop intersections where a driver is supposed to notice who first arrived at the stop.

Speed limit sign recognition coming in next update to Canada

So what did it do? Changed to 50 or stayed at 60?

Speed limit sign recognition coming in next update to Canada

This speed limit recognition is only for surface roads and it's not supposed to work on freeways. Freeways will come later (US just got this feature).

Speed limit sign recognition coming in next update to Canada

    Ottawa superchargers are closed

Anybody knows it it's open now? For a trip from Toronto with MX 75, I better know in advance... The in-car status used to say "not-available" and now this message disappeared. Maybe it's open now?

Pat you Tesla - it likes it!

Looks like there is kind of a new Easter egg or a "special" way to show Tesla how much you like your car. If you slide your finger on the car icon on the touch screen a few times (like you "pet" your car), then a message will appear saying "Thank you for your feedback. If service is required...

    Autopilot fail

I recently had a similar experience - my car on AP was slowing down for a van in front of me (usual MB van, not too big) that was also slowing down at a red light. Everything was very slow and nice including my car slowing down slowly keeping set distance. But then the van in front of me finally...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I got it fixed about a month ago in December. The result was great, acceleration was smooth and all. However, I recently got the car heavy loaded with all seats occupied and some baggage and to my surprise I got this exact same shudder again when I was accelerating with this heavy load...

Driving Across Canada via the New TransCanada Highway!

I love road trips, but I've heard the part between Calgary and Toronto is really boring with no much landscape goodies and it's more interesting to take the US-side route. Can anybody who did this trip comment on that?

    Smart Summon Issue

The consensus seems to be that the speed drop is related to outside temperature - at freezing temperatures the speed drops to just around 2 km/h

Auto pilot moving left and right in the lane with huge over correction?

I thought people just overreacting to this ping-pong problem as I did not find it to be that bad on my usual route. However, I did a few hours freeway trip this weekend and found it so bad that I had to even overtake the steering a few times as people in the car started to be thrown side to side...

Road trip Ottawa to Newmarket , use Kingston or Belleville SC?

Wow! 18% to 100% (or even to 90%) in 30 minutes is super fast for winter time! Is it normal for Model 3? 20 to 90 would take about 50 min now at winter if SC is in good condition (which recently become rare) for my 2018 model X.

Curious what was in your Release Notes. The canadian release notes would explain what is included into this release.

Auto pilot moving left and right in the lane with huge over correction?

If you remember, the ping-pong behavior was completely eliminated in v8 just before v9 was released. With v9 it suddenly returned. With v10 it even worse. My theory is that it's their way to figure out if a driver has hands on the wheel and it was back after those bad crashes about a year ago...

Another rear end accident on AP

From my experience, stopped cars are ALWAYS detected even in city driving. BUT: they are only reliably detected if the stopped cars are fully located in your lane! Most likely, in this accident the police car was stopped kind of between lanes or was just some potion of it was located in tesla's...

    Dojo

I think, once HW3 became available to Tesla developers, they have started using it exclusively for all new development. Once all this HW3 only work is released, we should see the massive improvement in Autopilot. What we see now (these few new features) is just a small part of what can be...

    Autopilot Fleet Speed?

It was not the "fleet speed" feature. What happened was car's map was indicating that the other car's lane was a merging lane and your wife's car was allowing the other car to merge by slowing down. This is an old feature. When this happens the other merging car will be highlighted (white) as it...
