    Model X towing test 2

I feel for you with your tongue jack dilemma. I purchased the jacks on Amazon. Supposedly have a 6,000 lbs rating each. They are actually pretty sturdy, compact and easy to use.

    Model X towing test 2

It was fully loaded at that time. I’m sure we’ve added a few more pounds of crap since. We run with tanks empty because the places we visit are all full hookups including both 30 & 50 amp to charge car and run trailer. I did remove the mounted stabilizer jacks to save some weight and help...

We took it to the scales, attached is the weight sheet. Steer weight is the car and axle weight is the trailer.

    Model X towing test 2

Technically it is considered a motorcycle trailer. Forest River is the manufacture, 14 x 7 plus the extra in the V nose. The inside stands at 5 ft tall. The Legends car in 60” wide so we have room for extra tires and such on both sides. The consumption usually is in 740 range per mile but I...

We also pull this trailer with our Legends race car. Fully loaded puts us at right around the 5,000 lbs limit. Usually around 700 or so.

    Model X towing test 2

Fully loaded. Dry the trailer is <4,600 lbs. Our essentials and supplies make up the rest to stay under 5,000 lbs. We tow with tanks empty since we plan to always go to full hookup places.

    Model X towing test 2

Our latest outing (test) went something like this. A Better Route Planner said we could make it to the Colorado Springs supercharger with 14% battery left from our house in Brighton. I used the numbers from my previous test to calculate, but didn’t trust it all the way so I played it safe and...

You got it right. Basically, I left the ground wiring to the trailer brakes on the loop and split the left & right positive with a new wire run to both.

    Model X Towing in Colorado

My hitch has a scale and was right at 460 lbs. Both weight of trailer and tongue weight are within spec. Three of us were in the car when it was weighed ( approximately 600 lbs). The Model X is a 6 seater.

    Model X Towing in Colorado

Attached is my scale sheet from my test. We are only going to be camping in RV parks with full hookups, so we only carry a few gallons in case we need the bathroom along the way. It leaves me close to 400 lbs for the rest. Steer axle = Model X Drive axle = Trailer

For the record on the steep decline I used very little break and usually just for sharp corners. In actuality, you have to accelerate to keep up with speed limit.

I’ve got a couple more test planned before we adventure out on a 1,200 mile trip each way. My goal is to make it from supercharger to supercharger while minimizing range anxiety. The max distance I have to make is approximately 110 miles. I’ll continue to post my results of my tests. I know...

    100D vs. P100D and towing

The trailer is 7 x12 with extra 3 foot with the V nose. It’s dry weight is 2013 lbs. We pull a Legends race car and all tools that go with it. In total loaded it’s around 4,600 lbs. We live in Colorado and sometimes race in Vegas. Going up and down the Rockies is a breeze. Obviously...

    100D vs. P100D and towing

I had to sell my taller trailer (102” total height) and go with a low profile version (81”) to pull our race car. It pulls like a dream and much better on range. MX100D

REVIEW: 21" Niche Essen Wheels for my Tesla Model X SUV

Thank you for the information you have provided about your 21” wheels. It helped me make my decision on my set. I went with the same style of wheels, but in 20”. The reason for my decision was because I could not give up on the towing capacity loss of the 21”. I feel the 21” look better but...
