    Trunk latch won't open

My 2018 m3 trunk latch not working. App and screen does open it. Think it s the recall I haven’t done yet? Seeing others here with same, maybe recent software issue?

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

For a purchase today, can our expected 2024 income be used for qualifying for 7500?. Asking since ‘22 and ‘23 are above limit. But unsure how to prove to IRS that eligibility until next April. Does Tesla apply the POS credit in this case and let buyer prove eligibility to irs next April? Thx

Why is the auto parking so bad? 8 Years later.

Works fine for me when it sees the spot. That’s the problem, getting it to find the spot.

Same here. It irregular though, rebooting has fixed. Haven’t figured the pattern yet. Probably a bug to be fixed in future. Could be usb drive too

    Worrisome auto-acceleration

This exact thing happened to me once pulling into a garage about 3 months ago, and not since. Scary at the time and like the OP i was always skeptical of these reports. And since I had to stomp on brake I knew I wasn’t hitting gas. No creep mode. It even gave me a rollaway alert so it knew...

Whatever Happened to the "Full Voice Control" For the 3

I got used to it. Most things are set it and forget, controlled on the steering wheel, or defaults in my user profile. With the new voice commands, I’ll force myself to learn and use them. Altogether, I think screen distraction can be a non issue for anyone interested now.

    Lane Departure Avoidance Issue

To my testing it seems to have stopped working. I checked it’s turned on in menu. It did work reliably when it first rolled out. For what it’s worth perpendicular parking indicator hasn’t come on for many months too. Not a big deal, but no idea why. All else works fine including EAP

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

For those having trouble detecting signs/ red lights find a stop you would go straight through, turn on EAP, as you approach drop speed to 0 mph. Then when safe scroll up to proceed. It should go off crossing the stop line. works every time for me. But at this stage, after testing, it’s mostly...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

Can confirm it detects both stop signs and red light on hw 2.5. Worked in all 4 instances I tried. Do need to be in auto steer;EAP. Now that you can set auto steer all the way down to 0 mph no need to risk lives any longer blowing through stop signs to test. it comes up even when you’re rolling...

    310 -> 287 (7.4%) Battery Degredation (5 months, 12k miles)

I’m 16 months , 18k, and charged to 312 yesterday. Search the forums for how to reset your charging, something like near full drain and full charge, might have to do it a couple times. Good luck

    Cost to charge at home

For me 12 months and 12500 cost me $50/ year more than the prior years electric bills ( not a typo) . No material change in home use or behavior. For me the trick was to enroll in the TOU plan. Without that my annual charging cost would have been about $300.

Tesla V10 software update rollout: post here if you are still waiting

Remember how sentry was at first? Six months later it’s way better. Same should be true for Spotify. Just needs more time. It’s in Tesla Dna to release before ready for prime time.

This is unrelated to the software. It’s a message everyone Automatically gets in their inbox, more like a advertisement.
  20. K

    V10 fw version 2019.32.10

Not yet, though that is the long term plan. If you have a Tesla service center nearby, they do. Others who live off the LtE coverage will need to say how delayed updates really are. Personally i use a range extender to my detached garage and it works well.
  21. K

    V10 fw version 2019.32.10

That’s gonna be really hard as I assume you don’t want to leave your phone and hotspot on in your car until Tesla tries to push the release, which can take days. You’ll eventually get a 4g push ota, but it’ll take a while. Its always cool to get the updates, but it’s rarely impactful to your...

    V10 fw version 2019.32.10

I think the take-off of EAP from a stopped position is much better. It used to trail traffic, and I’d have to hit “gas” so to not annoy cars behind me. Now it keeps up well enough not to.

    Wall Charger with Nema 5-15

I understand, and can say most people get over that within a couple months, especially if driving around town. This actually is better because you always start the day with a full “tank”. If you are slow charging know that you’ll only add 5mph, so you’ll likely alway be plugged in when home...

    Regen braking and neck pain

Hang in there, you’ll get used to it in full regen. 1 pedal is easier, and less work , than 2. It’s almost common sense if you step back and think about it, forgetting everything you learned from driving ICE cars.
  30. K

    Wall Charger with Nema 5-15

Why not just leave mobile charger plugged into wall. Normally no reason to lug it around in car except for road trips. No need to buy an extra one unless you need to charge mid day often

Homelink - summon my car to driveway each morning

You will be able to do what you describe if you are nearby the car ~150’, with line of sight, and don’t back onto a public road. That functionality is in Early access now. Homelink is worth it on its own, although not sure how I’d use Summon out of the garage personally - yes, cool but slower...

    Teaching kids to drive

I have permit driver. While I have let him drive the tesla a few times, I did so in settings that mimic traditional cars. Ie chill, low regen, no EAP... I mostly have him drive our 2004 Lexus rx330. But it’s been a challenge getting him lots of mileage though, because when we drive I really...

Elon tweet “Priority/early access will be automatic for all owners with FSD”

Priority is not necessarily the same thing as Early Access. Not sure it’s realistic for Tesla to have Early Access testers be an unlimited pool of owners (every FSD buyer) since these features are very much incomplete. On the positive side, Priority is better than nothing.

MASTER THREAD: Jack Points — location, use, damage, pads, etc.

Annoying, but doesn’t look like it’d do harm if it’s left that way. It would still likely function properly and it’s out of sight.

    Speed limit is wrong!

I wonder if reporting directly to the Google Maps website would be more effective? Various ways to do that but it’s about as follows Send Feedback=>Report a data problem=>Tap on the road where the Speed Limit data is wrong=>Add a note that the speed limit is wrong=> send your report.

Time of Use Electric plan- recommend

After exactly 1 yr owning the M3 my total Electric bill increased $91.88, for the year! That’s 12,500 mi, and I never had free supercharging. The secret was switching to the time of use plan with the local electric company. It’s not for everyone so you have to run your own math. For me, YOY...

    autopilot failed to brake

You should submit. They claim to review every contact anyway. You were likely in TAcc mode, not EAP, since the speed kept up, but the steering didn’t
  39. K

I ended up hitting a car *video*

Very probable EAP is off. Being an Hov lane , maybe you have Hov lane turned off and it was trying to exit, but I doubt that. Please don’t check email again. It risks all of us losing features if regulators or Tesla decide we can’t be trusted with them. But I do appreciate your honesty.

    autopilot failed to brake

No way is the leading car a priority. Users would have noticed that problem throughout the past year. It’s never happened to me like described here. Maybe the line markings were unclear. I can’t think of another good reason. Even there it should have avoided side swipe. As to OP I dont think...

What is the next step to FSD?

Agree, however that doesn’t meant the process won’t be a fun one to be a part of. And it also means it can handle 95%+ of the scenarios without infrastructure change. Which only means we have to still pay attention to the road, but won’t have to do much driving work. I planned to do that for...

Geico refusing to pay out Loss of Use claim

This just seems a petty concern to worry about in the big picture. Beyond asking, I wouldn’t waste more time on this particular aspect of the claim. Focus should be on getting car back timely and in comparable condition after any loss of value compensation.

Geico refusing to pay out Loss of Use claim

This is probably just me but I would suck it up and take the cheap rental if the car was being repaired properly In a reasonable amount of time for a Tesla. Life’s too short ...

    Model 3 Autopilot First Impressions

I’m surprised, as those are situations mine handles fine every time and generally selects a conservative speed. Yours looked a bit fast. The lines in the 2nd one might be hard to discern, I wasn’t sure. Nice manual recovery though. Test further, and see if it can handle them. If not, might...

    Homelink Now An Extra Charge

Homelink in Tesla is great and worth it if you must pay. I doubt any of those other cars mentioned open the door automatically when you get within 100’ of gps range. Tesla clearly needs more money and decided to make it optional, where other companies bake the price in to their premium package.

    Ap And Defensive Driving

EAP would do you no harm in either situation. Since neither crossed into your lane my guess is it would do nothing, but if they got much closer to the line it would start breaking rapidly. Think of it more as a copilot. You would be paying just as much attention as you do now, probably taking...
