Tesla Cameras' Coverage and Field-of-View for AP

Perhaps if you view the B pillar cameras, that may answer your question. You posted Green’s video with 5 cameras (tri-camera and two rear facing fender cameras). You are not accounting for the B pillar cameras and the rear facing camera.

Looks like a second V10 build is rolling out

I do not believe there is a v10.5 out yet. Why do you believe this to be true? I know the AP2.0 has hardware limitations that left out features in v9.0 such as the dash cam recording and the video games. What differences or limitations are AP2.0 owners experiencing? Oh, that must have been a...

FSD very far away due to regulations?

Please cite your source. You truly believe Tesla’s NN “can’t”? Or are you guessing it “can’t” because no one on these forums has been able to view the code? (Perhaps the NN is not active). Again, please site your source that Tesla’s NN “can’t.”

FSD very far away due to regulations?

I read that thread. No where in that thread does it state Tesla’s ADAS file size nor is it an exhaustive list of Tesla’s ADAS format, information, or description. In fact the contributors of that thread go out of their way to state, they only have limited visibility and not complete insight...

    Neural Networks

Just wanted to echo our appreciation for your contribution, and ask: Is developing a set of software tools a huge undertaking? What would the time frame be on this? And would this fall under Stuart Bowers responsibilities?

Well, he also believes the EyeQ4 can achieve L4, which even Mobileye does not: https://www.mobileye.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mobileye_EyeQ_Infographic6-002.pdf And as @Vitold pointed out, EyeQ4 was late. So, maybe Elon learned from Mobileye on product timelines?

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

@verygreen Did you test ULC prior to the v9.0 release? If so, is it performing the same as before the black list or worse? @Bladerskb Elon tweeted that Tesla is ironing out edge cases for Drive on Navigation / ULC. Since when did a tweet not work out well for Elon or Tesla? You may want...

None of the footage from that video is in the article you sent. Thank you for conceding you are wrong. Your inability to explain Mobileye’s failure to detect “EVERY pedestrian and the the direction they are walking” is very telling. I understand this was a difficult night for you to reconcile...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I need you to be wrong a third time tonight, so I’ll ask again: Why does Mobileye state “Note how Mobileye Vision Technolgy detects EVERY pedestrian as well as the direction they are walking.” That, like you, is wrong. Please, stay calm and take a deep breath, and answer why you and that...

@Bladerskb Mobilye has a link to their 2017 CES presentation, which was January 2017. And they uploaded that video September 17, 2017. I know you can’t Admit you’re wrong. Let’s agree you are the opposite of right. Just answer the question: why did Mobileye’s technology miss those...

That Mobileye Video was from September 2017. Tesla can do wrong. Mobileye can do wrong. And @Bladerskb can do wrong. You once claimed you were never wrong. Well, today you can no longer claim that. That Mobileye video from September 2017 proves you wrong. Unlike you, I repeatedly said all...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

You are right. The pedestrian had to be in the street for vision to sense it. I'd argue a system should track pedestrians when they enter the field of view (i.e., before they are in front of the car). Tesla and Zoox are the same in this regard. It's interesting to note that both Zoox and...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

@verygreen - Are you able to display the three camera overlay as @Bladerskb suggests. I'm curious as well. @Bladerskb - To be fair - Zoox missed a few scenarios. Would you classify any of these scenarios as "alarming?" If not, I can photo-shop the Zoox logo in the bottom right and replace it...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I think it would require geofencing on private property only. And this would be very limited because there is no technology to solve for parking structures with human attendants or accepting automated parking ticket vouchers for payment, validation, etc. Parking structures are just one...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I agree with most if not all of that. There is a lot more Tesla can and should do for safety. I do not believe one system is better than the other. They have different objectives. I believe Tesla does deserve a nod for finally delivering these convenience features even if they are 2 years...

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

I am not shifting the goal post. Just clarifying that GM Supercruise is the first hands free application that allows the driver to stay in the same lane for hours if the driver so chooses. If a driver wants a system to change lanes without driver intervention, GM Supercruise is not for that...
  37. Joel

Seeing the world in autopilot, part deux

@Bladerskb - No system is truly hands free for any meaningful amount of time. GM Super Cruise is hands free if you stay in the same lane. The driver will have to put his/her hands on the wheel / turn signal to change lanes. So, you really can’t drive ‘’for hours hands free.’’ The driver...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Makes sense. This example has the grey line two lanes over and the video cuts to a new clip before the car changes lanes. Would have been interesting to watch the car change two or three lanes.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Thank you. Was it a four lane highway? How many lanes does the IC display? Up to five or six? Was the Forward facing cameras able to recognize cars three lanes over or was this a mislabeled car?
