    Supercharger - Pasadena, CA - East Glenarm Street (LIVE 21 Oct 2021, 20 V3, 7 DCFC, 20 L2)

What are those parking bumps doing in the middle of those spots, with that orientation?
  2. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

That's shitty that the garage is still requirement payment despite the mall being closed. Maybe we could get the City of Pasadena to pressure them into making it free while the lockdown is in effect?

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

The check for my amended 2018 return, which I sent in on Feb 7th, arrived last night. I was quite surprised, because they said amended returns can take up to 3 months to process. So I'm sure you guys will get your refunds soon. :)

    Supercharger - San Luis Obispo, CA (LIVE 5 May 2018, expanded May 2020, 14 V2 + 4 V3 stalls)

I was just pointing out that the legal side of things can cause an otherwise "finished" Supercharger to not be "open".

    Supercharger - San Luis Obispo, CA (LIVE 5 May 2018, expanded May 2020, 14 V2 + 4 V3 stalls)

Sadly, looks and permits are two entirely separate things. There was an SC somewhere out east that looked completely done and ready to use for two years, but was never turned on. They eventually tore it all out.

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

Only TurboTax gets the form in 7 days. That person you quoted just explained that H&R Block is not expecting to add support for Form 8911. Ever. I already filed my 2019 taxes with H&R Block, but I'm definitely going to use TurboTax next year.

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

When I tried to use the 2018 H&R Block to amend my return with Form 8911, I had no luck figuring out how to do so. They mention the form in the "Business Credits" section, but once you say "Yes, I want to fill out this form", they just send you to Form 3600, which is for a variety of business...

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

Yes, that's what I just did. I had done H&R Block e-file for my 2018 taxes a year ago. First, I filled out Form 8911, and came up with the value of the credit. My install was hella expensive, due to needing a subpanel upgrade, so I got the full $1000 maximum credit for private home installs...

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

Oh yikes! They said 8-12 weeks, but 5 months is way worse! I hope mine doesn't take that long. :(

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

If you file your taxes now, without Form 8911, and then file a Form 1040X to amend your return, alongside Form 8911, it'll be pretty easy. Just follow the instructions on the IRS website for those two forms, and it's simple as pie. I did it on Friday night, to amend my 2018 return. Amended...

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

BTW, the IRS finally updated the instructions for Form 8911, available here: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8911.pdf The previous version was super short ans essentially said "You can't apply for this credit any more". It now has useful instructions. :)

Ohhh, now I get it! Thanks for explaining that.

H&R Block 2019 missing form 8911, again (EV Charger Credit)

I am very confused by this form. Line 10 says "do not file this form unless you are claiming a credit on line 9", but line 9 is specifically for a "business/investment use". I installed this HPWC for my own personal use, so does this form not actually apply? Everyone seems to think it does, but...

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Awesome to see the city DCFCs are turned on! And with the SC spots filling up, I sure wish Tesla would release a CCS1 adapter. Any idea what the city chargers cost?
  15. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

The charger at that handicap space is different from the rest. Is that a Level 2?
  16. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Even not being able to use those, I still adore that site. I've never seen so many non-Tesla fast-chargers in one place before.
  17. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

That line of city DCFCs looks cool! Oh, and with all of them being lit, does that officially make this the biggest fast charging station on the west coast?
  18. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Which two connectors are on these city DCFCs?
  19. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

It's 90 mins validation. Starbucks was mentioned as validating because it's the cheapest place to do so, but there's a whole mall worth of shops and restaurants which will validate if you make a purchase. Just walk across the sky bridge from the SC and you'll enter the Paseo mall.

Late January works for me, for the drive meetup. I'll be out of state in early January.
  21. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Yup, that's one of us, though I can't recall his username. He was at the meetup we did the day after it went live, and mentioned talking to a reporter. This article must be the result!

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

The gates are open 24/7. They are manned from around 7:00AM to midnight, during which time you'll actually have to pay to park unless you get validated.
  23. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

I haven't seen anything. We should totally schedule something, though this rain (and maybe snow?) may be prohibitive for the funnest drives.
  24. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Yeah, it's a known problem where new SCs incorrectly report their current available spots as their maximum available spots. Happens for a little while, then eventually fixes itself.
  25. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Not everyone is enlightened to the proper SC etiquette, yet.
  26. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Interesting to see that people are parking with a space in between, despite that being irrelevant at Urban Superchargers. Probably good in the long run, to ingrain the behavior in newbies who don't know about SC etiquette, for when they do visit one where that matters.
  27. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

If I recall correctly, you can park for free before 7:30AM, by leaving through the gate that has no attendant.

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

You could get validated at ColdStone by getting an ice cream. I'm sure a beer at Yard House would get you validated. There are a number grab and go restaurants in the Paseo mall.
  29. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

I was getting full speed charging on Tuesday night when it opened. It wasn't anywhere near as cold as it is now, though, so maybe that's having an effect?

If my info is right and a Megapack is 3MWh, you'd be looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of a 5000 mile range.

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

That meetup was a blast! And the supercharger was super busy, too. Talk about a successful launch!

I believe these exist to support the Tesla Workplace Charging program. The first time I ever saw pics of one was from a business that joined the program, and Tesla sent them half Tesla connector Destination Chargers and half J-plug. It's to support charging non-Tesla EVs at workplaces, while...

Maybe we should put a sign up about the 5:30 meetup at Yard House?
  34. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

The last two times I was there, I got a ticket from an automated machine, but turned it in to a person when I left (using the western entrance/exit). There are other exits to the structure, though, which may have just machines. I'm not sure.
  35. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

If you buy a drink at one of restaurants in the Paseo, you'll get validated for 90 minutes free parking.
  36. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

These rules are for the underground structure, but I'm 90% sure they also apply to the separate structure that has the SC: Paseo Colorado Parking - Parking in Pasadena | ParkMe Main things to note: $1.50 per 30 mins 90 mins free with validation (this was plenty of time for me to have...

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Yard House's outdoor area is fully covered. And they have those standing heater things.to keep us warm. It will, however, be a largely uncovered walk from the SC to Yard House. Bring an umbrella.

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

The charging display didn't remain up when I got back into my car, so it's hard to tell if I was charged. Oddly, I did not get any warning from the app about my charging being complete. Hello, white and midnight silver Model 3 owners! I own the blue one that was there when you plugged in. :)

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

I'm at the Islands right now. They validate.

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Yay, charging now! :) So glad there's finally a local SC for me. I live in Azusa and work in Pasadena, so there was nothing available.
  41. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Arg, I got delayed leaving the office! Heading out now.

    > BTW, anyone needing to DCFC in Pasadena before this site opens can use the Caltech parking garage at 341 S. Wilson. That site was just lit up this morning, 4 DCFC available. Check Plugshare for details. For Caltech folks watching this thread (probably a few? Hi fellow techers!), in addition...

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

So glad I live in Azusa. Our local power company is cheap and offers a really nice EV owner discount (-$0.05/kWh for off-peak usage). With all costs included, I pay something like $0.10/kWh to charge.
  44. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Ahh, OK. I almost never supercharge, so I hadn't realized they'd reverted that policy. Thanks for the heads up.
  45. C

Supercharger - Pasadena, CA (LIVE 26 Nov 2019, 24 urban stalls)

Doesn't Tesla already have a policy of charging the same price throughout each state? I would assume they'll charge $0.28/kWh, like they do at all the other SCs in the state. it'll be interesting to see if the city DCFCs will be cheaper, though.
