Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

All cars are easy to drive on nice sunny days sans traffic. What counts for me is how a car drives on dark windy nights, in the rain, on dicey roads, in heavy traffic, etc., etc. I will only drive a car that I can operate using muscle memory without having to direct my limited attention to a...

    Germany bans Cybertruck

Ahh... you must be referring to those millions of other trucks that accelerate from zero to 60MPH in 2.6 seconds, right?

    Germany bans Cybertruck

This vehicle belongs in a Mad Max movie. Not on the suburban street shared with pedestrians and cyclists. The front of the vehicle backed by 4 tons of steel would cut through a crowd of spectators like a 9-iron through grass. I hope Tesla has a large reserve set aside for legal fees - they...

    Cybertruck is a scam.

US pickup buyers are a very conservative lot. I recall many deep discussions over beers about the virtues of Chevy vs Ford trucks. No minds were changed. Aside from a few early adopters, and the occasional rap star (I'm looking at you 2Rare who will need to buy 2Cybertrucks) who will need...

Cybertruck = Tesla Swan Song. Can you spell "Hummer" or "DeLorean"?

    New Highland UK - stalks

steering wheel mounted scroll wheels for: Stereo volume = inconvenience. Turn signals = bigger issue. The human brain can only attend to one task at a time (sorry all you multitaskers out there, the brain doesn't work that way). I'd rather drive the car than hunt for the correct scroll...

Anyone who has had difficulty adjusting the sound system volume while driving (read: everyone driving a Tesla) will know that scroll wheels moving in a 360-degree arc is a problem. I, for one, will not accept this for adjusting speed or turn signals. There is a reason 99.9% of vehicles on the...

here's another article that references the WSJ report. https://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/angela-chao-cause-of-death-18967658.php We'll probably never know what happened for certain. Cars are easy to drive most of the time. Control operation only become critical in emergency...

check out the WSJ report: https://www.wsj.com/real-estate/angela-chao-death-texas-tesla-safety-c435daa0?mod=e2li What Tesla must do for safety reasons is design a physical selector that does not move with the steering wheel, always operates the same way, and does not require a driver to take...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

An EV doesn't require a gear selector like an ICE vehicle. What Tesla must do for safety reasons is design a physical selector that does not move with the steering wheel, always operates the same way, and does not require a driver to take their eyes off the road or fiddle with a touchscreen...

    New Highland UK - stalks

Here's another useful feature lost with stalk. I often drive my '18 M3 on the highway with autosteer activated. I often wish to take control of the steering while leaving the TACC set. This required a quick flick up followed by a quick flick down on the right stalk which is accomplished...

Shifting is a key driving function. Have you ever touched the wrong letter writing a text on your phone? In the new Tesla vehicles touching D instead of R, or vice versa, can be deadly.

Do you see any irony with the fact that the press reported on her difficulties changing gears as she described to 3rd parties numerous times, which you call "no evidence" and then immediately make a completely unsupported insinuation that she was inebriated? Congratulations - you just scored...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

For me: No stalk = 100% Dealbreaker. This incredibly stupid design decision saves Tesla money by killing its customers. For an example google "Chau Pond Death." The problem will only get worse as more of these death traps hit the roads. If Tesla does not fix this error I will abandon the brand.

Can stalks be added to a 2021+ round steering wheel?

For me: No stalk = 100% Dealbreaker. If Tesla does not fix this incredibly stupid design error my 2018 M3 is the only Tesla I will ever own.

The way the new Teslas shift is a complete dealbreaker for me. My 2018 M3 has 50K miles and I'm going to trade it on a new vehicle later this year but there is no way on earth I'll trade for a '24 Tesla. Sorry, Elon, but you will lose my business if you put essential driving functions onto a...
