The REAL reason I’m excited about the Model Y...it’s not the Model Y

Is the X owner really going to want to do the downsize to a Y? Tiny in comparison if just a few inches expanded M3. I drive a mid sized SW, a Prius v (no longer made) and was stuck in traffic for 10 minutes yesterday. A blue M3 was directly behind me and I was admiring it but noticing how small...

Ordered on phone, no confirmation number

So they charge a $1k reservation on top of the price shown on the web page plus S&L and taxes?

    The Better Choice

I'd wait as I'm thinking that within 6 months they will either have dropped the price or changed to the next generation of hardware to support Autonomous. I think 2 more quarters of financials should have made their future clearer. In TN I'd rather have a lighter color than either for the...

problems in the European delivery hell

I've been buying cars for 53 years and only once did I pay by bank/certified check and that was at a dealer two states over where I ordered over the net and railroaded in and drove back to save $3k over the local dealer. If they can't trust my personal check, I don't want to trust them. And...

Prospective owner with quality control question

I decided not to buy a Tesla at this time despite wanting one and having the money. Why you ask. Because of service stories. I currently drive a Toyota Prius. 53k miles and 2 problems. One a flash at the next dealer visit fixed the slow nav issue. The other problem occurred 4 times...

Tesla Removes Mention Of Standard Range Model 3 From Its Website. What's Going On?

My bet is they are doing two things. First defining the content of the low cost low range model. And second perhaps preparing to change the content of the higher range and cost models by including the hardware for auto-driving 3.0 and perhaps even the battery chemistry. I think it a positive...

    Price Drop/Delivery Push

What makes you think that part of their total compensation isn't volume driven? I've seen it said in other posts it is.

Canadian Model 3 vs. US Model 3...should I be concerned?

Gummi Pflege the door seals and trunks seals every 6 months. Comes in a shoe polish like applicator, takes three minutes. Keeps the "rubber" seals flexible.

Polar Vortex vs Model 3 Performance 0-60 time. (okay, 0-59)

The motors have bearings don't they? And stressing them when cold isn't too great for them I'd imagine. Don't you want all the thermal changes to have occurred and for things to be in a steady "normal" state before stressing things?

Tesla's production number growth and impact on Service Centers

Service convenience and parts availability are two important items. One of my vehicles is a Prius and I had a rare (defined as no other report of a similar error message when googled) problem. One problem in 6+ years. My dealer was 2 miles away in my small town. Parts for such a rare failure...

Thinking about buying, a few questions

Income and net worth are two different items. Some even keep income down.

    Raleigh, NC waiting room

Ya know, there is something to be said for a dealership with a sales manager who doesn't want you standing in the middle of his (or her) showroom floor and in a firm well modulated voice audible throughout the showroom asking for someone to step up and fix a problem that has become ridiculous...

I don't want "hate mail" but I have some issues with the Model 3:

I loved it the first time I took some trash to the county recycle place and opened both the trunk and frunk, I don't think the attendant had ever seen such and he was literally running to ask/see where the engine was. The car was a mid-engined ICE. You can hide Xmas presents for one person in...

I don't want "hate mail" but I have some issues with the Model 3:

I think the frunk push down is typical of many front trunk lids. I've had 2 of my last three that required an even push on both sides of the emblems. Both of those cars also had windows that dropped to open and raised on closing. Both had mo molding metal around the glass.

Model 3 Keyfob Now Available for Purchase

On my $30k when new 7 year old car you can walk up to the drivers door with a fob in your pocket and open the door by pulling on the handle which can be done with your hands full. No need to press and pull. You aren't dependent on the model of your phone, the rev of its software or the state of...

Is my cost of ownership realistic?

Depreciation happens no matter how long you keep the car as you have to replace it sometime. Yes it gets less per month the longer you keep the car. Offset by increased costs of repairs in a typical ICE car. Additionally, any money you spend buying the car (even via payments) can't be used...

    Cracked Rim...

About 10 years ago I used a wheel repair service up near NSA/BWI in Md. Lots of very high end wheels there. Prices for some of those wheel sets would almost buy a Model 3. Ah, yes I do have a ref Ye Olde Wheel Shop 6363 Washington Blvd. Elkridge, MD 21075 (800) 526-8260, (410) 796-8400

Is there anywhere a first drive guide?

Thanks, those should be enough to get me home assuming I've also read the manual before hand.

Is there anywhere a first drive guide?

Is there a sticky, post or anything describing the walk through a buyer should go through on delivery? I ask because I'll be 54 miles away from a service center and would like to go through a practice session of simple things like the functions that are on the stalks of an old school car. I...
