2020 MY LR tire life, 20 inch wheels. How much tread life are you getting?

2020 MY LR, 20 inch induction wheels, no acceleration boost. I got about 9500 miles with the original Goodyear tires before Discount Tire at a rotation told me I was at between 3-4/32nds all around. (They measure using their little computer measuring device.) Took it to a second DT location...

Stock tires at 4/32" after 5300 miles?

I have the 20 in inductions with the Goodyear OEM tires on a 2020 LR. 8700 miles over about 13 months. 4/32 remaining, getting closer to replacement. I am not particularly hard on these tires either. They've chewed down faster than my tires on my previous Model S. Course I am seeing others...

My new 2021 Model Y just rear-ended pretty bad

Yeah, Arizona permits "loss of use" but it is usually compensated for in the form of a comparable rental car for the length of the repair, whatever that is. If they provide a rental, then there likely isn't any significant "loss of use" to compensate. Tesla and the typical extended repair...

My new 2021 Model Y just rear-ended pretty bad

Yes, do not let the DV claim go. I've had pretty good success with these. In fact the best DV claim I handled (in terms of recovery) was on a Tesla.

My new 2021 Model Y just rear-ended pretty bad

I'll go out on a limb here and wholeheartedly disagree with this. Public adjusters make money by taking a percentage of a recovery. This is a run-of-the-mill auto accident. The property damage is not typically difficult to assess, and in the hundreds of claims I have handled as an attorney...

Unhappy with FSD sales and pricing

I get that. But it also says "future" at least a couple of times. So what FSD is defined as NOW, in terms of that which they offer NOW, is what Tesla says it is, and may be everchanging. They state it has the "hardware" to do it--and I suspect if later it is determined the hardware isn't good...

Unhappy with FSD sales and pricing

Well, and, isn't "FSD" kind of a "term of art"? It isn't something really defined anywhere. So right now FSD is just kind of what Tesla says it is.

Unhappy with FSD sales and pricing

I paid for FSD once and pretty much got nothing for it. Replaced it with a new Tesla and opted not to buy it. At 10K it is particularly ludicrous for what it actually offers. And yes, even incremental releases would keep the masses happy and on the edge of chairs waiting for what's next. The...

Pretty sure you have an arbitration clause in your purchase order. Just FYI.

    Yes, for sure.

    Model Y Snow Chains

He doesn't have the Geminis with the Aeros. These are the 20 in induction wheels. There is not anything to take off on those.

    Model Y Snow Chains

He stated the ones Tesla recommends/sells, so presumably these... Model Y 19"/20" Snow Chains

    Windshield distortion on Y

I have this too. I have my windshield tinted though, and always thought it must have been the tint. It isn’t bad enough that I care very much, but every now and then I catch a glimpse of the distortion.

  19. rking0122

Do you regret paying for Full Self Driving?

I don’t feel bad at all. If anything I feel bad about having paid for it on my prior S and getting zero real return. Now, at 8k and no promise when even the new beta will meet the masses, it’s just too much money to drop on a maybe, especially on a tech product that will have to drop in price...

Do you regret paying for Full Self Driving?

Increased on my app as well as my Tesla account via browser. I ultimately did not bite.

FSD up to $10k on October 29, 2020??

Does anyone have an idea (guess?, rumor?) when this beta will ultimately come out for the FSD masses? I’m relatively sure many of the “careful driver” folks that were selected for this beta are just “influencers” selected to talk it up. I’d hate to plunk down 8k to find out this new release...

FSD up to $10k on October 29, 2020??

If FSD followed ME, I would plunk down for it now, and have no cars other than Tesla for the rest of my driving years. I previously put it on my S and kind of saw no real upside for the investment.

FSD up to $10k on October 29, 2020??

FSD going up $2000 on Monday

Less for older cars? Do you mean it would be worth less if you put it on an older car?

    Accelerated pedal cover

That is weird. I’m absolutely certain neither my Y or S did. I added aluminum pedals to both cars.

    Just another disappointing aftermarket experience

This is the first time I’ve personally heard of anyone having an issue with AO. And it’s certainly not my experience with them over probably 15 transactions. During business hours they even have live chat—try that, they’ve always gotten back quickly on there even if they can’t chat right away.
  27. rking0122

    Just another disappointing aftermarket experience

I second this. AO has been awesome for everything I’ve bought from them.
  28. rking0122

    Accelerated pedal cover

There is no factory cover on the accelerator pedal. That is normal. Was the same on my prior S.

    3 to a Y...back to a 3?

I’ve got a Y and honestly I don’t feel like I really drive an SUV. I know it technically is, but to me it feels like a sedan. I considered the M3, but being just north of 6ft tall it just felt too small. Weird because other than seat height I don’t *think* M3 and Y are really much different...

Induction wheels - flat tire happens - stock tires aren't made or carried anywhere

Like you, I tried and failed to find this tire anywhere. Hopefully Tesla carries them, although to be honest, in the event of a flat tire I'd kind of hate to have to wait on Tesla service since they're so backed up.

Are those the Abstract Ocean letters on the back? I think they look good...better than the original T.
  35. rking0122

Vendor Want to remove the Model Y emblems?...Think again.

According to Abstract Ocean, the pre-Covid cars have holes. Around April that changed. AO sells a T E S L A badge package that replaces the rear T, and that’s where they say that.

    Need Financing Advise...

That’s a good rate (either of them) for a long term auto loan. There is a good argument to be made to keeping your cash in the bank, particularly during the uncertainty of the pandemic. You can always choose to add to your payments if finances allow. Seems like you’ve calculated the TOTAL...

  49. rking0122

    Performance Boost Available

Sure. If the car is totaled or stolen and you want the insurer to pay you for the value of EAP in your claim payment, they're taking more risk, and the premium goes up. Can't say what the reasonable value of that protection should be, but, yeah, it will be higher.

It’s going to depend on your carrier. Many companies are slow to figure out how to deal with cars like these where you can purchase intangible (non-physical) factory upgrades post-purchase. Some will issue a “custom” parts endorsement (for an additional premium), some won’t. Anyone who is...
