Holding on to your Roadster. . .

Yes would like to get together for road rally or just coffee. The MY not due till Q3 so I'm going to hang on till then. Will market it at Fully charged and Earth day drive electric week so it may go before the MY is available. Nice to drive and very eye catching but still just a car.

Need feedback on Roadster for daily driver

My 2008 #302 is my daily driver (except in crappy weather) now 50,000 mi. Range is about175, Std is about 130, so obviously still original battery. I use Firestone Firehawks on the rear and they do great, about 50-60,000 mi rated.

Holding on to your Roadster. . .

My PEM fried last year (2008 #302, 50,000mi) . Local SC first quoted $11,000 for a new one, then a week later offered $9,000 for a 'refurbished' one they found in CA. Gruber's price of $5,000 sounded better so I shipped the entire car from TX (about $12-1400 round trip) It took about 3 months to...

    PEM second failure

Just got the car back yesterday. two months in repair and about a month awaiting shipping. Range is exactly the same as when it PEM failed, about 170 Max about 140 standard. Not too bad for an 11 yr old original battery pack. New PEM lifespan estimated at 8 more yrs. Now it's time to look to...

    Roadster 3.0

TEG as my Roadster is an example of easlry adopters, it was the first CPO in the state of Texas, and probably one of the first to be fully repaired by a third party. The PEM failed completely and was quoted $9800-$11,000 to repair by local SC. So the Forum coming to my rescue recommended Gruber...

    PEM second failure

PEM failure update. Gurber has said the PEM is now fixed (after 5 weeks) and is now looking at the other errors (BSM Failure, etc). Svc Ctr had dropped their $11k cost to $9800 for a reman PEM from California so they did not get the job. Gruber estimate $5-8k to Repair/replace PEM. Battery (I'm...

    PEM second failure

Eric 1.5 PEM failed once before and was under warranty at the time. I believe the Texas heat is very bad for roadsters as it rarely gets below 75 degrees from Jun through Sept. This causes the coolant system to run continually. (this was the first casue for repair, pumps running 5 solid weeks!)

    PEM second failure

My 1.5 PEM just had a fatal failure. the fuses fried ($800 to replace) but the other issues in the PEM require it be fully replaced $11000 from SC!!! Any one know where I can get a working one?? Did see one on Ebay for $5k, but very leery of anything on ebay.
