    Supercharger - Lincoln, NH

Any updates on the prognosis for the 4 V3 stalls? as of 3/1 they were still under wraps. I didn't look around any further as it was dark...

    Londonderry NH Sales/Service Center

Just drove by. As noted , much activity. They were actively setting a utility pole today. Sorry for bad photo of my screen. Didn’t have a chance to stop for photos or passenger to use a camera.

Thule Force XT Sport roof cargo box installed.

Ok. Back with some pictures. One inside box and one from below. I figure I extended the slots maybe 1.5 inch. No mods to the clamps or sliding filller pieces. Both pictures have one clamp forward like is needed for installation The other clamp is slid back to show the modification

Thule Force XT Sport roof cargo box installed.

I'll have to get some pictures, but I ended up on a slightly different modification approach. I extended the forward end of the slots. I used a series of drills to create the 'new end' and used a hacksaw to cut out excess. A little cleanup with a file and we were good. no modification to the...

    Londonderry NH Sales/Service Center

Manchester supercharger is ~4.5miles away - and to the north (also servicing east and west) which is the direction that any who needs charging after service is likely going. If you pull into service with less than 2kwh remaining, I'll bet you can beg for their (level 2) mercy to get you enough...

Cheaper to burn oil than run electric heat pump -)

Are you really paying $.32/kwh? I'm in NH and I think I'm at $.228/kwh right now.. and expect it to got down again next month. I ran the math with $.228/khw and get ~27 $/MBTU . That's about the same as pellets - so i'm just running both. :)

What's happening here? Too cold for Superchargers?

might be something else - we had a supercharge site in northern MA that had 5 of 12 stalls down last night. wasn't particularly cold here.

Supercharger - Seabrook, NH - New Zealand Rd

I'm really happy to see the AC posts at this site. will be interesting to see what cost model they use for those: is it subsidized by the casino to encourage people to 'linger'?

I’m scared to drive my new Tesla in the winter

you have to carefully modulate the 'go pedal'. you can't be slamming it 'on' and 'off'. remember - coming all the way off the 'go' pedal is akin to pressing the brakes hard. Likewise, the vehicle is 'rear biased' - something you have to get used to - especially if you're coming from a Front...

BP Pulse Orders $100 Million worth of Superchargers for US Network

I understand the desire for those with 'free unlimited' supercharging to see that benefit grow. However, I'm strongly against 'free' (by that meaning, no additional incremental cost) DC fast charging as that run contrary to best use of the limited resources. I'm actually kind of surprised that...

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Me too. I’m at the end of my second set in the mileage (see my OP)
  12. E

    Replacement Tires for 19" wheels

Now I'm at 56k miles, and I can't recommend the continental tires. they were noisy and are already worn out. some of that is attributable to a bad knuckle in the rear suspension I just had fixed (took it to tesla thinking it was a bearing going bad...). but I don't think its even worth...

    Four Bike Rack

I bought a yakima fourtimer: I think its discontinued now, but it was the lightest 4 bike platform I could find.. very happy with it. seems much less 'waggy' than my four bike (hanging) saris rack. I suppose it's worth adding: I added a set of lights on a bar that I bungie to the last bike...

'23 Y still come with CCS charging?

the way I understand NACS, it's just CCS comms through the tesla physical interface. the bigger question: what will all the old (pre CCS) compatible teslas do when trying to use NACS going forward? (basically, CCS communication protocol isn't going away)

    Buying from New Hampshire

yep. had ppf and mudflaps put on 'for free' after my '23 Y NH car (delivered from NJ) didn't have them. but remember - nothing is free. mine took two trips to peabody and one mudflap has already gone missing....

I wonder if they've thought through the delivery truck access. I've watched the car carriers unloading at Peabody: the driver parked in the mall exit road and blocked traffic to unload the new teslas.

First Road Trip In 2023 Tesla Model Y

I had a LEAF for 12 years. the Tesla experience is a whole different animal. In my Y, I just got back from a 2500mile trip (NH to TENN and back) and we had two super charger issues. 1 - a July 4 gas promotion at Sheetz caused huge lines at two our our stops. really hated waiting in a gas...

    Buying from New Hampshire

We’ve been though TGA’s concerns. One ill advised trooper does not the law make. (Though the same can still cause a bother) (Edit to add: nothing against tga or the argument to get local plates. I just don’t see how it’s necessary) To further my interpretation I’ve highlighted a section that...

Trailer wiring and a dangling connector

Not really surprised, but Tesla service said this wasn’t covered by warranty as I have over 50k miles and am now just reporting it. Quote was ~$350, if anyone was interested.

    Model Y Tow Plug Adapter

Trailer wiring and a dangling connector

I have a fairly early 2021 model y with factory installed tow package. I’ve only ever utilized the tow package for a bike carrier - thus never plugged in to the trailer electrical connector. Recently I bought some lights to put on the back of the bike rack to try to mitigate any brake light...

Hitching dirt bikes with model y

the difference between cargo capacity weight vs ball weight is the extension. as an example of that, I own a hitch extender. it is labeled with a warning that you need to derate the ball weight by 50% when in use.

Cloud profiles between two different Model 3s

I have two Model Y. (search brought me here..:) ) my 2021 started life with 'local' profiles. My 2023 only has 'cloud'. of course, the 'cloud' profiles now show up on the '21. but even after running calibration on both vehicles, the settings on one car aren't 'right' on the other. side...

When will Tesla add the following to the Route Planner: SOC at Arrival - Deleting individual Charge Starions - Display Non Tesla Charge Stations

No one here knows. Thanks for asking That said, I use ABRP for the first three. With regards to the last point, I'd actually like a 'stop preheating' button.

When will Tesla add the following to the Route Planner: SOC at Arrival - Deleting individual Charge Starions - Display Non Tesla Charge Stations

feels like feeding a troll... but ABRP (premium, i think) does everything you ask for.. sounds like you want that build in. so - go buy a polestar if you want that today. if you want to argue with tesla users - we'll, you're doing that already. if you want tesla to add features - great. you...

    Londonderry NH Sales/Service Center

No. More is not always better. I've heard the Paramus NJ site is a 'zoo' with both supercharger and sale/service. Peabody ma would be worse nightmare than it currently is if they tried to jam in 8 charger stalls. ok. edit to add: in general: more charging is better. in this case I think...

    Londonderry NH Sales/Service Center

Not sure why we need a supercharge site to be co-located with a service and sales site. It's literally under 5 miles from the suspected londonderry site to the manchester supercharger site (that is still, as of this writing, waiting for a transformer)

2023 Model Y Custom Order Wait Time

it took two trips to Peabody MA service to get mudflaps and PPF put on. Given the time and mileage 'investment', I probably should have just skipped them or just bought them to self install. But i've got them on now.

pre conditioning for non-tesla charging stations

the updated energy app data to seems to support this. switch car to 'miles' (rather that %) and look at the energy app while navigating to a supercharger. it'll say something like "preconditioning for supercharging cost 5 miles to save .2min charging time". At least this was roughly my...

    Service Center - Bedford NH

Speculation from a Tesla employee in MA was that the adjacent 'showplace' was enough to kill this Bedford location. I wonder if that could just be an excuse so they didn't have to deal with all the Bedford imposed conditions. Either way - I hope they hurry up with the Londonderry location.

    Buying from New Hampshire

Hi. Just a heads up: I just registered my new Model Y (lr awd) here in Merrimack. The state MSRP database had the vehicle in with MSRP of $81000. Clearly that’s wrong. As that official “price” sets the local registration fee for the life of the vehicle it’s nice to get it right. I did not...

2023 Model Y Custom Order Wait Time

Thanks. I've got an appointment in march to have the flaps and ppf put on, since they offered. I don't have them on my '21 Y. I figure 'something is better than nothing' I'll see how these look at report back.

Need help on a question on fitting 2 bikes in the Model Y

I bought the lightest bike rack I could find (yakima four-timer) and I'm just not going to worry about being a few pound over the 'cantilevered' limit. I suppose if i ever have a full rack and will be going on dirt roads (remember - no off-roading) I might 'tie' the rack to the roof rack. I...

2023 Model Y Custom Order Wait Time

not sure entirely - someone in the know can correct me, but I think it started first for canadian cars but some northern states it now applies. 2023 Model Y Custom Order Wait Time

My car arrived (carrier direct) today. I hadn't actually seen the 'new' console until today. FWIW, the 'basket' that was in the armrest console on my 21 Y is no longer part of the build. that was my only real surprise to me. I did post elsewhere, but i'll repeat here, I did have to put in a...

Home Delivery in NH (Carrier Direct)

I'm expecting a carrier direct any day now. however, i'm not making any plans to be home. the whole point of paying the $750 was to avoid taking the 'day off work' (for me and my wife, not to mention the ~700miles driving).

    Insurance Before Delivery?

I did that, but tesla has asked for insurance showing my (new) tesla VIN. this may be due to using carrier direct rather than me taking delivery at a tesla location

    Buying from New Hampshire

if 'they' is Tesla, then, No. No offer was made to help me get to NJ from NH. I looked into renting on my own, but decided the ~$100 plus gas plus needing to get the ~2miles from rental return to tesla made it unattractive.
