Re: seats Service Centers seemingly lack the tooling (and/or willingness) required to repair seat issues. Virtually every seat issue like the one you mentioned seems to be solved by just installing a new one and sending the bad seat off to be reworked. I'm making an assumption on the last bit --...

Have you had issues related to parts? Now that they’ve alleviated the lead-acid battery design flaw, I don’t really have any parts criticisms. What are you dealing with? Or is this a baseless complaint?

Considering Model X (Current Model 3 Owner)

Yeah, my X replaced a Toyota Sequoia, so it’s comparatively park-friendly.

Considering Model X (Current Model 3 Owner)

Fat kids, customer hates ya. Fat wife, customer pities ya. $hit, Zooha — that’s the best fat wife I’ve seen in 5 years. Can I have a copy of it?

Considering Model X (Current Model 3 Owner)

Lol. I have 5 kids and it's fine. The 9-year-olds happily sit in the 3rd row.

This is always the point I make when people slam Tesla build quality. My experience with American automakers has NEVER been good, so it's less shocking to me. I always expect to have a service appointment pending for my X. That is just the reality of it. Call it what you want -- my pigeon-wing...

I think you underestimate the stark differences between the challenges associated with scaling ICE automobile production vs BEV. Partnership with LG Chem, Pana, etc...that's all great, but that doesn't magically secure the requisite raw materials. If you don't have batteries, you can't build...

    Infotainment Upgrade taking MONTHS

To close the loop on this adventure, my upgrade was finally completed. I dropped off the car Monday morning at 9am. They finished and released the car to me at 6:58p yesterday. Had to re-program Homelink, reconnect Bluetooth devices, and change a few other settings back to what they were...

Seriously hope reality proves my assessment egregiously pessimistic.

    Model X First Reviews

I think your assessment of the BEV market is heinously optimistic, but while I fear you're wrong, I certainly hope you're right. A cursory examination of the market reveals that legacy auto manufacturers are screwed. They are saddled with massive debt from their ICE business and they don't have...

Is getting someone to buy a used car without lying about the value a fool's errand?

Standard Presumptive Value is a rather popular mechanism to ensure SOME minimum tax is collected irrespective of purported sale price. Don't do this. Make sure the buyer knows about SPV. If they still insist, I'd find a new buyer.

    Infotainment Upgrade taking MONTHS

MCU 2 is not being spec'd on new Teslas, anymore. That's actually what has me so worried. If I can't get the upgrade, MCU1 will hobble my car both in value AND usability. Seriously, I never could have imagined MCU 1 could be this bad. Laggy as hell and reboots often without warning.

Anybody interested in taking delivery of my 7 seat MX (Sept-Nov)?

Same. I live IN DFW and would love to take delivery of your MX. DM me!

    Infotainment Upgrade taking MONTHS

To clarify, they have no fulfillment information for the missing part. Zero. No idea when they'll get it. I guess that's why they keep blindly pushing the appointment back.

    Infotainment Upgrade taking MONTHS

I requested Infotainment upgrade in April. My service appointment was just pushed back for the 5th or 6th time to 7 July. Not confident I'll actually be able to get the upgrade, honestly; SC has no information on parts availability. I did opt for the radio upgrade, as well, but they already...

Model X Price Increase 03/15/22. +$10K LR and +$12K Plaid

This is a reasonable assessment, but I think the current used-car market phenomenon is less pronounced with Tesla (ergo closer to the norm). I wouldn't have wanted anything less than a 90D. Current performance leads me to believe a 100D would be my real baseline (daily driver is a P3D+). My...

Model X Price Increase 03/15/22. +$10K LR and +$12K Plaid

A cursory examination of the used market doesn't reveals that it's a bit more complicated than that. All new cars depreciate (except in this insane supply chain-constrained, gotta-have-it-now-and-i-am-flush-with-cash market), but Model X is performing INSANELY well compared to luxury SUV...

Questions from a potential P3D owner

Unpopular opinion, here, but the audio system is only acceptable if you're playing high-quality source audio through USB. Even then, I find the midbass performance underwhelming and the highs are a tad muddier than they were in my G80 (with the top-spec 17-speaker Lexicon system). I'm far...
