New RWD LFP ideal SC strategy?

I thought if I “send to car” the SC location it will navigate to the SC and therefore will precondition? If not is there no way to trigger this from the app?

    Thinking of buying a 3!

I went through this myself and ended up just getting a new one for what amounted to $100/mo. But one trick is to google the VIN of the cars you are looking at. I found some in my search that were sold under telsa preowned on/before 2020 and therefore had extended warranties which would give a...

New RWD LFP ideal SC strategy?

So today was charge day. I was going to charge from 29-80% but my kid was entertained so I just let it go a bit longer to 89%. I have to say, the whole SC experience has been great so far. Only took 18 mins to add 100miles which is actually very reasonable as that may least me 5-7 days.

New RWD LFP ideal SC strategy?

So if I’m say 15 mins from SC, I can just use the Tesla app and “send to car” which will trigger preconditioning to start maybe 10-15mins before I leave?

New RWD LFP ideal SC strategy?

Thanks for the reply. I read a lot about the suggestion to charge to 100% at least once per week. Iirc that’s only for prediction and not for any actual condition of the battery right? As for the charger, yes I understand a generic one will work but I already have the Tesla one on order and...

New RWD LFP ideal SC strategy?

Just got my RWD a few days ago and tesla is taking their sweet ass time shipping me a charger for it to use at home. <rant>I get keeping costs down by not including the charger and floor mats for people that don’t need/want them, but then at least stock these things so they are delivered with...

My driving range was only 58% of estimated, and 37% for climate control

Forgive me if this has been discussed or if I’m wrong, but in cold conditions the battery internal resistance goes up significantly right? This results in poor performance and iirc Tesla will limit the capacity and current draw from the battery in these conditions. Estimates I’ve seen are 20%...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

After long debate between used MS, slightly used M3 and new, I stopped by my local Tesla drove the new red and liked it. They had a couple and I take delivery today. What a long way things have come since a year or so ago.

Do all 2023 RWD M3 have the new LFP battery?

Too late to edit. But I was asking if in the US market all rwd M3 built and sold as 2023 included the new LFP battery.

Do all 2023 RWD M3 have the new LFP battery?

Sorry, should have been more specific. Thanks so much.

Do all 2023 RWD M3 have the new LFP battery?

As the title suggest, I can’t find for certain on the Tesla website, but just wanted to make sure that all the RWD m3 have the new battery?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks. Is there any easy way to check for this leak?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks. Sales guy didn’t have the app/account info. Is that going to be an issue if I buy the car?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks. Yes the ViN search turned up that it was sold by Tesla used so that was useful. Dealer gave me the carfax so title is clean title. I’m going to go check it out tomorrow so thanks for the info on the MCU.

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Is there anyway to tell the warranty info? Looks like it was sold by Tesla as used in 2020 with 40k miles on it. Did they have a 4 year 100k warranty on used back then?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Ya, not a huge deal but nice and seems to help resell value so being sure it’s not available should help in negotiation.

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Okay, thanks. I did drive it. Didn’t notice any sound from the drive unit but I have to go check some things I missed looking at (battery pack, MCU, etc) so I’ll see if they will let me take it to the SC. There’s no easy way to tell if the DU has been replaced is there? Edit: after doing some...

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

The sales guy didn’t seem to know anything about the free supercharging. I’m working on the assumption it doesn’t have it. But is there a way to find out? On the screen it said something like “add payment information” or something so I assume that means no or am I wrong?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks. This is refreshing. Every time I come to this place when I’m thinking of a used Tesla while I wait for my CT I get cold feet from all the horror stories.

Okay, thanks. I know there are threads on this very topic but what years would you consider optimal in the pre-2018 region?

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks. I’ll give it a good read. This will be a 3rd car for my family and I wanted something “fun” or “interesting”. I have a 40k ish budget so thinking I could stomach some repairs if otherwise it was a good deal. I probably won’t put too many miles on it tbh. I was about to pay 15k for a golf...

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Thanks so much. The asking price is 29k. I’m assuming the free SC has been removed but is there anyway to check that as well? Carfax says two owners. One has it two years and then the second owner has it the rest.

    2014 Model S P85 buying advice

Hey all. I’ve found a higher mileage (78k) P85 that a local dealer took on trade and has it listed incorrectly as a 60kwh so I don’t think they are getting the traffic they expected. Seems to be a good price and they’ve had it a while so can probably get them down even more. I drove it the...

This truck design had better be a joke....

This view was a selling point for me. I own the truck on the left and seeing it dwarfed by the CT impressed me. Was worried it was more model X sized, but seeing it compared to the f150 was impressive.

This truck design had better be a joke....

Yours looks better, but the body is structural unlike traditional pickup. If the C Pilar to go all the way to the back you get extra support for the payload, stiffer body/frame and for rear end collision. What’s the payload for a decent model f150/Silverado maybe 2000+ lbs? If that’s your...

This truck design had better be a joke....

funny you mention the ridge line. The contractor who remolded my bathroom showed up in a top end Chevy Silverado when he put in a bid, but guess what he showed up to do the work in? First generation Honda Ridgeline. He hauled all the demo waste and brought all the sheet material in it with a...

This truck design had better be a joke....

A body on frame or even a truck version of the model X, would likely have a starting cost of 60-80k. Aluminum body on a truck is very dent happy as f150 owners can attest and body work for aluminum Teslas is one of their big issues. Stock price did drop, but with 200k orders already, if they...

This truck design had better be a joke....

100% it will not be sold in that configuration. Headlights aren’t legal, no side mirrors which are required, they will likely have to provide some solution for emergency exit in water entry although we all saw the windows aren’t as tough as advertised and it may float?! It will also have to...

This truck design had better be a joke....

I think you guys (and most journalists) are missing the point. The target is not really pickup owners who live mostly in red states and don’t really embrace EV. The idea is to bring the benefits of a pickup truck to EV shoppers. Trucks are great family cars. The bed with a cover is the best...

Okay, great. This is pretty unexpected and usually the newer vehicle had more features. Sorry, I’m sure this is answered elsewhere, but is is due to safety? Liability?

    Newb pre-owned buyer

So the autopilot from a 2015 model has more function that the 2019? Thanks to all you guys for your quick replies. So when I see a listing like this: What can I deduce about the AP functionality? Also, would you guys recommend the air suspension? I do like a good ride. And lastly, what...

    Newb pre-owned buyer

Hey guys, been lurking here for a while and have had quite a few questions answered by searching around, but wanted to get a few direct responses from the community. I’m gearing up to buy a pre-owned MS this summer when I make my final payment on my ICE. To put it simply, which iteration (year...
