For anyone wondering. Tesla did honored the 4y/ 50k mile warranty on the drive unit replacement. I also asked if the new DU will carry a fresh 4yr/ 50k warranty with the replacement and was told "Yes" :) Tesla replaced the LDU with the -U revision for the coolant delete/ reroute so we'll see...

I'll see what they say... worst case it is what it is & I'm just out 6.5k. I just really hope that the newer U revision motor will hold up longer.... I feel like every time they replaced it they told me that this new revision will hold up much better lol I don't have much confidence in them...

I've been riddin with it for some time now with that light.... I call Tesla tomorrow and see if they'll reset it. I'll just tell them I pulled the seat out to clean it or something ;) maybe it'll work lol

Tesla might have to reset it or reprogram the module.

I have the same airbag fault :(

Also found a way to make the adjustable headrest work without the UI. All you need to do is install a diverter switch from the up/down lumber motor wiring. When you click up on the lumber support the motor will drive up and click down will drive it down. Use the switch to pick between the two...

The old ones.... this is the only issue during the install. They're bulky and will not simply bolt on to the plastic side panel so this will have to be modified when I get the time.

I saw a complete set on Ebay for 1500. Same seats and it includes the rear. It's in cream.

I paid $1,250 but the drivers seat frame was bent up pretty bad so I used the frame and parts off of another seat I bought for I think around $275 a few months ago. Adapters are around $150 all together.

Just a heads up if you have the premium seats (Gen4) I dont think it'll work. They dont make a harness adapter for Gen1 to Gen4.... they only do Gen1 to Gen2. I've been trying to make this work for a while with not luck.....

Okay I just managed to get another set of premium seats with the different wiring harness. I'm currently waiting to get them shipped :) here are some pics from the seller. They're not ventilated :( but the comfort compared to the first gen will be more than enough!

I would like to avoid using an emulator if possible. I want to see if I can get this to work using OEM parts first, rewire second, and last option will be the emulator. It honestly should just be as easy as changing a harness and the vehicle configuration.

I'm looking into acquiring a set of the newer 4th gen seats to install in a 2013 P85. I couldn't imagine why these wouldn't work.... they have the same connectors as the Gen3 "Next Gen" seats. Already contacted Tesla and they have the jumper cables for the new seat wiring retrofit waiting for me...

Tesla has the ability to do this OTA. It may not work for everybody... I was told this usually doesn't work and the old IC needs to be cloned to the new one. As for the MCU I would think that this would definitely have to be brought in to get done. All the vehicles data is tethered to the MCU...

I replaced the whole assembly :) screen, board, and bezel.

Just finished mine :) gen1 to Gen2 retrofit! The difference is insane!! I'm beyond happy with the results.

Have you done this process? There's another thread where this was attempted but it did not reprogram the IC.

Any update? I have a Gen2 IC and want to get his done.

So there's two versions of the gen 3 seats. One has the 24pin with connector as shown above and another with two similar connectors as the gen1 and next gen seats. As of right now there's no easy way to retrofit the Gen3 with the single white connector but the service center does have jumpers...

It's all good. I just wanted to see the clarity on the Gen2 with the non ap setup :) I've seen how clear the text and graphics are on the Gen2 with AP cars but just curious how it looks on non AP.

I have a 2013 P85 with the orginal IC. I'm upgrading to the 2nd Gen IC as well. Hopefully everything goes smooth.... I dont have any updates pending but i can always call the SC and have them push the last one.

I'll have to check it out :) I live 10min away from that area so this will be nice to have. I've only seen 1 other Tesla in this city.

So I managed to get a Premium Gen3 seat and was going to try and use one of the guides someone else posted for the NextGen seat retrofit but this won't be possible due to the newer style wiring/ connector. Also, the seat I purchased has the ventilated option as well so there will be even more...

I'm wondering on how to get this done as well. I have a gen 2 IC on hand but the SC said that they don't do upgrade like that yet.... any help would be greatly appreciated :)
