Just picked up my Model S on Tuesday and couldn't wait to start personalizing it a little bit. Brought it by Factory Wheel Republic in Huntington Beach to trade in my 19" Cyclones for a set of 20" Model X Slipstreams in a high gloss black finish. After researching the forums I've decided that these wheels are the best combination of looks, performance, durability and ride quality. The Model X wheels have the perfect offsets to fill out the fenders and sit aggressively without rubbing. The 20" diameter offers a combination of great looks, but with enough sidewall on the tire to offer a comfortable ride and protection from potholes that cause the 21" Turbines to crack, due to a very thin sidewall. They are also priced very well compared to other aftermarket options. There are a few silver ones with some imperfections for sale in the $500-700 range in the classifieds, or brand new condition Satin or Gloss black sets on eBay for about $600 more (The cost to powdercoat a used set)
I also had the car tinted with a 35% ceramic tint and spent the weekend polishing the car and applying a ceramic coat to the vehicle. The car looks nice and aggressive now with these simple changes.
