He noted that it was purchased CPO/used from Tesla which would mean 50k miles from when he bought, so 27K miles at purchase, expire at 77k.

I don't see the VIN in the thread, but if he provides it you can check it at https://ev-cpo.com/ under "Option Code Lookup" if you see SC01, then it should transfer, SC0 and any other number but 1, and it probably won't. Usual disclaimer, Tesla is a bit unpredictable, and things go wrong.

My 85D was purchased used from Tesla by the previous owner in May 2019. I then bought it privately in April of this year and the free supercharging transferred to me no problem. So this should be OK …

Just looked it up and YES, it says SC01 using the option lookup.
