I'm diving into a winter tire & wheel package for my 2023 MYP. I'd like to go with Tesla's standard 255/40R20 tire size to avoid fitment or rubbing issues. I'd alsso like to use EV specific winter tires (there are not many offerings). I was talking with a sales rep with Discount Tire, and they informed me that MYP front tires are load rated for 101, and rear tires are load rated 103. All of the winter tire offerings in 255/40R20 are 101 rated, and they said they woul dnot sell underrated tires to a customer due to safety and liability.
There are 265/40R20 winter tires with a 104 load rating, but they are not EV specific tires.
How critical is the load rating of 103 on the rear tires on the MYP? Would it be dangerous to run 101 rated tires on the rear? TIA.
