Boombox: how to continue to play when exiting the vehicle?

I can turn on the boombox. As long as I am sitting in my car, I can keep the boombox playing all night. As soon as I leave my car with my red solo cup on hand to fill, the boombox turns off.

How do I get it to play without anyone inside the car? I’m stumped.

I'm not sure its possible. Last time I went camping and needed some tunes, I just closed the passenger door *almost* all the way, leaving it cracked enough to register as still open. The boombox then played for maybe an hour or two before I had to go wake the car back up.

A few threads on this already. Just put the car in camp mode. I use it every time I detail my car in the garage.
