Nosecone (photo without that oval plastic cover):
- dedicated oval circle with two section bottom side grille, including front registration plate holder
- front radar inserted in the lower section of the middle grille
- a bit better aesthetic look with long lower lip that has separate black plastic lower section which does not show curb defects as the new one does
- wrapping does not affect radar functionality
- place to attach tow-eye hidden behind the oval black plastic
- earlier versions had 12V recharging poles right behind the oval plastic removable section, that 2016 90D might not
Facelift (photo from google/not mine/ with two aside - it’s not OEM so has the radar in the old place and no LED headlights):
- one-piece “new look” front bumper which might not have that front registration plate holder (was an option in US). Gives a modern look now. Still has the lower section grille
- front radar been moved to the left side (drivers side in UK) and now hidden by the plastic bumper
- wrapping and repainting might interfere with the radar function as Tesla has dedicated service guidance of how to deal with repainting.
- there is no more additional unpainted plastic section of the bumper and this reflects with more curb paint defects visible
- tow-eye attachment point can be reveal by removing small plastic cap which is visible on the bumper
- that same cap now has new recharging cable ends for the 12V battery under hood (not sure as this did came with the appearance of Model 3)
