Clockspring conversion model S 2014

I recently bought a clockspring for a 2014 model S with the directional lever on the top hoping to change the one I had with the cruise control on the top. They were both from the same year 2014. All the plugs were the same and plugged right in. Only problem was my SRS was disabled and none of my steering wheel controls worked. Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work? Do I need a harness or does Tesla need to program it or something? Every time someone uses my car they turn on the cruise control accidentally when they think they are tuning on the directional. It's kinda stupid the way Tesla hid the directional lever behind the spoke.
The first picture is of the original and the second is the replacement.
