Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions
Started with a clean car and ended with a monsoon.
We left around 8:30am 40 degrees, no wind, no rain. Arrived in Bandon to take advantage of free Chargepoint.com charger at the Police Station (30A/208V for 1.1 hours for ~7kWh).
Up until now I have been above ideal range, but today with the rolling hills and the temp up in the 50’s was able to get around ~260Wh/mile by coasting at zero energy on downhill’s instead of regen slowing the car down (this was a bit counterintuitive but it is more efficient to let the car speed up then capture the energy since there is loss during capture. But then the monsoon hit.
40mph winds out of the south, driving rain and several big hills we had to stop in Gold Beach for another free charge at Panther Pizza (found this one on Plugshare.com) but couldn’t get any pizza as they were closed. We charged to 70 *rated* range for our 48 mile trip. Kept up with traffic and arrived with 13 to spare (around 380 Wh/mile)
