During plant shutdown, retool for Model S upgrade?

This is an excellent time to retool the production line for an upgrade to the model S. How about switching to the 21700 battery or a new battery for more range? Replace the power hungry resistive cabin heater with a beefed-up model Y heat pump. For additional safety, put a blind spot warning light in both side view mirrors. That's where we look when planning a lane change. Dozens of other items are on wish-lists submitted to Tesla. Leverage this tragedy to a benefit. Will they do it or waste the opportunity?

Not sure how much you know about manufacturing but retooling a production line in any significant way takes a small army of highly skilled labor, and tons of on site engineering work. They’re shut down. Might as well be asking why they aren’t using this opportunity to build model Ys.

Agree. I was thinking of small changes or advancing retooling originally scheduled for third quarter. It's a good time to implement minor upgrades to the production line.
