It's surprising to me that when driving on a hot day in the heart of honolulu, my Wh/mi is in the 500+ range. However, when I'm on the highway going 50-60 mph, my Wh/mi is in the 230's. Based on EPA, I should be getting much better mileage in the city vs the highway.
My experience with a Nissan Leaf correlates with EPA. My mileage is very good on a hot day in stop/go traffic but does worse on the freeway. Do you folks have similar experience? I'm wondering why this is the case. Is the AC or the constant acceleration/deceleration power drain on a Tesla much more demanding than a Nissan Leaf?
