I have read several comments on these forums complaining about the fit and finish of the Teslas. I have owned a lot of classic cars and bought a lot of new cars and know a little about fit and finish. I am very impressed with the finish on my M3. There is one flaw in the paint where a speck of dust got on the paint before it dried on one mirror. Most people would never see it. The fitment of all body panels are perfect. The attached picture shows the quality of the paint job. I do not wax the car. I only wash it with mild soap and finish up with Groits Speed Shine to take the bugs off and remove water spots.
My biggest complaint with the car is the panic stops the car will do whenever anyone pulls across the path of travel when in self driving or autopilot. It will throw everything in the car flying. I have called service but they say it will be eliminated in future updates.
