It has dual drive motors with one on each axle. This not only provides better traction (4WD) but also provides a backup for each motor. Additional benefits come from enhanced "regeneration" of electricity when you slow your speed. The 4WD along with the low, even, weight distribution provides superior traction!
This car only needs to be serviced once a year. I pre-purchased 8 years of service and have only used 2 years worth. The next service is in May 2018. It and the following 5 have already been purchased. The warranty on the car is 4 years / 50,000 miles with the battery warranty is 8 years / and unlimited mileage. Additional warranty years can be purchased from Tesla.
The car has some normal wear on it with a minor tear in the "cardboard like" front undercar closure. It also has a small (barely noticeable) dent on the left front fender (see pictures where it is marked with a yellow postit note). Tesla has checked both of these and has recommended no action be taken.
The car includes a 40amp charger with cord that will charge at a rate of about 30+ miles an hour when plugged into a 240v outlet. This is more than enough to charge it overnight during the "non-peak" period from a Power Company. The car has a range of 234 miles. It is Supercharger enabled which makes long trips a breeze.
