How do you open the fixed-point roof hinges on a 2016 Model S?

Hi, I just bought a 2016 Model S and am trying to install a roof rack. However, I can't open any of the four fixed mounting point "hinges" on the roof. Is there a trick to doing it? I read on another thread that you can just do it with your fingernails but that definitely didn't work. I tried using a mini screwdriver as a lever but the plastic started to crack so I figured I was doing something wrong. Any tips or tricks?

Before you damage the flaps use automotive silicone oil or similar on the edges and a bit later pry it open. It should be possible with fingernail, if not then use plastic pry tool or small flathead screwdriver. I used it only as pointing device. Are you opening them the right way? See photos:
