I'm about to be a new owner of a 2023 Model Y Long Range Dual Motor, white ext/black int. I live in Euless, TX (between Dallas and Ft. Worth).
Here's my delivery timeline:
Order: Mar 07
EDD1: Apr - June 2023 (on Mar 07)
EDD2: Apr 03 - May 01 (on Mar 17)
EDD3: Apr 29 - Jun 03 (on Mar 24)
EDD4: Mar 28 - Mar 31 (on Mar 28)
DELIVERY: March 31
On the 28th, I got a call from Tesla telling me that a car matching my order was available in Austin. Did I want that car? I said, "Yup!" They said, "Can you drive down and pick it up? We have a shortage of trucks and can't get it to you before the end of the month. We'll give you 2,000 supercharger miles if you do. Can you be here tomorrow?"
I was going to make a trip down to Austin on Apr 1 anyway, so I said "Sign me up!" They had a VIN assigned to my account before I got off the phone, but I declined to take delivery until the 31st.
Isn't the end-of-quarter delivery scramble fun?
