I think the origin might be to protect against the epidemic of rear windows broken.
In fact I tinted the rear triangle windows to make the back seat latches less noticeable from the outside.
I also recently added inside a mesh grill to cover the rear triangle windows.
As a result, from the outside, the rear triangle panel seems to be like a solid panel.
