... LFP batteries were at 120 dollars/kWh at the start of 2023 and are on track to be just 36 dollars/kWh by the start of 2025. That's truly an insane scaling of value. Heck, just knowing the pack could be easily replaced at a reasonable cost would be hugely inviting.
And the fact its good for a lot more cycles making a replacement far less likely in the normal lifespan of a passenger car. For heavy duty trucks like the semi its a different ballgame as the expected useful life is around a million miles so its significantly more than passenger vehicles.

Interested to see how the different BEV semi packs hold up long term as that will give some insight into passenger vehicles.

The NMC type cells are not dropping a ton on cost because the cobalt only comes from a few sources, none in stable areas, and there is also the whole child labor issue with it. This is a big reason why cells that use much more common elements are desirable, the materials are readily available from multiple sources. Its much easier to find iron than cobalt!
