Hello Everyone!

I’m hoping that one of you wonderful people can help! I’m trying to find a leasing option for me, who lives in Kentucky, one of the 3 states that will not allow Tesla to directly lease in. I’ve already extended my Mercedes lease and am in a rush to get a Tesla to replace that car so I can give it back to them.

Tesla referred me to 2 leasing companies but they only lease to companies, not individuals. I’m just hoping someone has been through this themselves, maybe knows someone who has or has a contact that give me a hand with this.

Any help you all can provide I would very much appreciate, thank you so much in advance!

I will be posting this on other forums also just to try and get more exposure. Apologies if this was posted in an incorrect forum.

Thanks again so much!

Steve

why lease? cost more to do so

Hey Shappy, thanks for the reply!

The only reasons I wanted to lease were:

A) I like getting a new car every 3 years or so
B) Lower payment
C) Not having to worry about out-of-warranty issues since the cars are always new and under warranty

I know leasing isn't technically the most economical choice, but I have always preferred it. Is what you mean by "cost more to do so" that you pay out all the money over the course of the lease but then own nothing?

I’ve found that with my P90D I would have lost more money in depreciation had I bought it
Now I can return the car knowing I ended up ahead with my lease vs had I purchased the car and wanted to sell 3 years later

Also prefer leasing expensive cars as not too many people have the cash on hand when you’re selling it, less hassle.

Now if I could only find a way to get a lease in the state of KY... :(

you need to have a bigger down payment, I can drive my Tesla all I want, not worried about miles. I'm not upside down in the car, I add a few extra dollars to the payment each month, and car is paid off in 3years. My interest rate is 1.49% I think they should change the name for leasing to fleecing. Do the math. And you don't Own the car, and lease payoffs are more than the car is worth.
