Model S - Door handle presenting, but the door will not open!

hello everyone,
good afternoon. hope everyone is doing well. i need some guidance in fixing rear door handle on my tesla model s. so the read door handle on the car presents and retracts, but when pulled the door doesn't open. i even tried few suggestions that were shared here as looked at the wires in the rubber cover, but nothing looked broken. so i decided to look into the wires in the door. while tugging on all the wires 2 (white and black wires) came apart so i was like oh great this must be it, but after reading multiple comments and watching many videos i was able to remove the door handle i couldn't find it anywhere where those wires couldn't have come off from. the door still doesn't open and it's getting frustrating. please help.

Could be the plug that goes to the window switch on the door panel. Please post a pic of the wire and the backside of the switch (its hidden behind a layer of foam. Disregard this suggestion if the switch moves the window.

The problem with the handle is the switch harness. The wire looks good but its broken inside and harness needs to be replaced.

i'll check this today. is this switch harness readily available or any specific brand i should buy?

It may depend on what generation handle you have. The electrified garage video is the best I've seen. If yours matches thiers then a link is there for the harness.

There is probably more wires broken or close to being broken. Check again. If you want to repair the door handles itself check YouTube for some help

When all else fails, just get a used one from eBay. And if that doesn’t work, definitely check the loose wires in the driver door leading into the kick panel

appreciate the information. i replaced the cable recently, but still having the same issue so i reached out in case i missed something or anything else can be done.

will look at the videos again. the issue i see (excuse my ignorance) is that the door mechanism looks different and has 3 microswitches instead of 2. thank you

The harness in the pic has 2 switches. The new replacement is longer and is installed better to prevent the wire breaking.

You are missing a switch , there’s 3 total

He is missing a switch because the handle is the first edition (I haven’t seen one yet) with the ribbon connection to the module. That suggested new switch harness does not fit this handle. See here:

The wiring that's laying on the seat is from your handle? If so it needs to be replaced.

yes it is. i took it out to take a picture. i'll order one. appreciate the help. thank you
