Model X Steering locking

When turning the steering wheel from lock-to-lock I meet three or four areas of strong resistance and I have to wrench the steering wheel to complete the turn, then it overshoots and I have to correct. is this a known issue? What is the fix?
hank you,

That sounds like the lower intermediate steering column shaft has failed. The symptoms are as you described, pulsing resistance every 45 degrees or so.

I don't think it will break entirely, but not the safest thing to drive - you might want to call roadside and get a flatbed to a service center ...at least a call into the SC to get their opinion would be a good idea.
