Model X tire warning is on and loses all tire pressure reading.

Hi: I found a tire warning sign on the panel. When I look into the tire pressure display, the numbers are all gone. I tried to reset the car by pressing and holding both scroll wheels and brake. The 17" display on the right did reboot. But it did not clear the warning sign nor return the tire pressure values. I attach 3 images with a normal display without warning sign. Anyone has experience of this type of warning/error ? Tires do look normal in terms of driving. This is 2016 model X.

Thanks

Eddie

Hi @Birdcar ,

With the vintage of your car you have the Continental TPMS system…
It would show a low tire pressure or other symptoms for a single tire.
You likely have a TPMS ECU failure.
It will not give readings for any tire…

The good news is that the ECU is less expensive than a tire sensor.

Make an appointment to get it fixed…

Good luck,

Shawn

PS - If you want to try a DIY repair, the part number is 1034601 and is readily available on eBay for $40

My understanding is that the batteries in the TPMS can die and that the TPMS may need to be replaced. Perhaps that is what is happen
