Model y Walnut trim inconsistency

I took delivery of my model y (Red-black) last week. The walnut wood finish trim in the doors has rough texture compared to the smooth finish of the wood trim in the dash. Tesla says, they cannot match the finish between the trim in the door and dash and is within spec.

How is it in your car? or is it too much to ask from Tesla to expect quality to that level?

Never heard of a Model y coming with Walnut wood from the factory. If you are talking about the feeling then you can sand wood. If its aesthetics then put something over the top of it or live with it. Yes its asking too much from Tesla to get them to match correctly.

@umss Can you post a picture? When the Model Y came out in 2020 the dash wood trim was open pore and is intentionally rough with the wood pores exposed.
