the new tesla app with latest gen3 connector firmware allows tesla app to get data from the wall connector

i could not join a program with power company (pseg) to get lower rates for non-peak home charging…

the reason was: gen3 does not connect with the power company…

other chargers like chargepoint or juicebox do…

Q: will this new upgrade allow my gen3 to connect with the power company (of course they would have to integrate…)…i am trying to contact them…but will this bring gen3 to the other chargers capabilities…

No, this would not change anything important. Tesla would have to do software especially to allow the power company access, adding features to the app won't particularly help.

i was hoping because the gen3 firmware was upgraded so the app can read it with both connected to wi-fi whereas the prior method required the putting the the gen3 into access point mode…i queried pseg…
