Possible to rename a paired phone?

My wife and I both have Pixel 2s and both are paired to the car. Consequently, the car shows them both as "Pixel 2" in the connected phones list. Is there a way to rename them to better distinguish which is which for when we're both in the car?

I think you have to rename them on your phone's bluetooth, then unpair and pair them again with the car.

Yep, you have to change the Device Name in the each phone's Bluetooth settings before pairing.
