Since everything is logged, I'd be very worried about affecting your warranty. Let's say it allows the car to go 20 mph over the design limit and the high RPM destroys the motor or the higher current damages the battery. I can't see Tesla covering it under warranty. Now if your car is out of warranty then it doesn't matter as much (although it could be quite expensive should it damage something).

thanks vcor, good advice... got 1 more year on general warranty coverage and 5 more years on the drive unit/battery...
