I agree. Elon is planning on putting all of his money into making humanity multi-planetary if it comes down to it.

I hope so considering that Stephen Hawking is giving us only 100 years to find a new planet

The earliest an SpaceX IPO can take place is one CommX is bringing in a lot of $$$.
SpaceX estimates are as high as US$ 22 bi/yr.
Perhaps by 2027-2030.
That would make SpaceX perhaps a US$ 25 bi/yr in revenue, which could justify a US$ 100+ billion IPO while selling just 40% of SpaceX shares.
This could allow investors wishing to cash in on their investment to sell their stock at the IPO but EM keeps his controlling stake (if this is even possible).
I'm sure there are plenty of investors interested in purchasing SpaceX stock as a private company. Until those shares reach crazy high valuations, an IPO is out of the question.
