What if Tesla owners are stealing lugnut covers to replace the ones someone stole. A single stolen cover could trigger an epidemic of stolen covers with the same covers going from Tesla to Tesla in SF.

I had one cover stollen (only one) while staying in a hotel in Portland.

I wonder if someone wanted to check if I had safety lugs (that I have) before trying to steal my wheels,
or if the stollen cover was only taken as a little 'souvenir'?

Impossible, you need to insert a tool inside the small hole to extract them.
You can remove them with your hand by grabbing a branch but this is quite hard.

Don’t use covers
Silver caps on lugs and T cap for the center
Nothing to steel and looks better
