Tesla delivery tracking

Tesla should sync your app but only location tracking until you pickup the car that way you could follow it as it moved across country to you. Even if they delayed it by and hour or two so you wont know exactly where it was at. It would still be cool to see it move closer to you. Then maybe people wouldn’t be calling asking for updates on their car’s location.

For some reason it seems like Tesla tries to say as absolutely little as possible about the production and shipping process. A Domino's style in-app car tracker would make a ton of sense and cut down on people calling up and asking for a status update.

For example when you first place your order it should say "Estimated factory build day" then "car in production, VIN# ..., estimated to be finished by ..." and then "vehicle in transit to delivery center, estimated date of arrival is...see map for current location"

It seems like such a no-brainier thing for them to do especially since the delivery adviser has all this information anyway, so the info exists they just withhold telling customers any of it. Plus it would help customers who are understandably very excited have an idea on what's going on, and help people plan around picking up their car whether they have to still trade-in a car, take off from work, etc..

I know they have all the tech in place they just have to get their IT team and web team together.
