Hopefully we will see price cut starting in US soon.

WSJ reports today that Tesla dropped prices over 9% on models 3 and Y due to reduction of commodity prices, efficiency in plant and competition of Chinese EV makers.

Have to also wonder if softening of demand.

So…….1. Is price cut coming to the US? 2. Also have to wonder, as a person who leases their car (with no buyout at end of lease), will this potentially change the game and be offered a lease buyout at a depreciated value (like old times)? Due to glut of incoming inventory.

The powers that be will be very careful to avoid the words recession until after the midterms. Furthermore I think they will hold off on that news till after the new year. I think by February the US and most of the world will be in recession mode. Prices will have to come down.

That headline was misleading. Tesla dropped most models less than 5% and one model about 9%. Rob Mauer’s Tesla Daily YouTube episode yesterday did a thorough job of explaining the reasoning and the potential impacts of a price reduction.
