Tesla paint warranty.

Hi everyone!
I wondered if anyone has had experience of getting faulty paintwork under warranty with Tesla?

My 2020 M3 has now developed flakey paintwork on the NS door sill, OSF Wing and now the tailgate! No damage to any panel yet paint is just flaking off.

Tesla already rejected the front wing where essentially the headlight rubbed off the paint due to poor panel fit but I reckon I might have a better chance of revisiting that, given all this other suspect paint on different areas of the car.

Has anyone else had similar?

Yes, I had both sills repainted under warranty on my 2020 M3. The paint had flaked in a similar fashion to yours. I understand that there was a bad batch that were delivered late 2020 and my paint was rectified Jan 21 when the car was just a month old. It sounds like your car is from the same late 2020 batch and the flaking looks similar, so you might have a case.

Yep, the paint started falling off my late 2020 M3 LR.

It was fixed (after a fashion) by Tesla under warranty.

It's a known problem for cars built at that time. Musk acknowledges it in a video somewhere.

That part of the sills (at least for that age of car) is paint. IIRC they didn't wait long enough for the paint/ primer to dry between coats when ramping up production, hence it didn't adhere properly.
