I did the top speed runs last weekend in Ocala Florida with my 2014 P85DL and thought I Soulja’s share some interesting information and insight. First off, the event held my WannaGoFast was amazing! Over 200 cars came out to run top speed times in the half mile. Obviously not Tesla’s specially, but I wanted to give it a shot. What I learned:
My top speed, run after run, was 126.xx mph. I topped out the same whether at 84% SOC (beat charge I could get) or at 50% SOC. Only below 50% SOC, did my max drop to 124.xxmph
Tesla crushes most cars in the 1/8 mile, many in the 1/4 mile. It was not a drag race, but I treated it like one . After 1/4 mile, a lot of the ice cars caught up and passed me.
The car is rock solid at 126 mph and reliable run after run. At the end of the day, I was launching once every 10 -15 minutes and seeing similar results.
Tire pressures had no effect on top speed. I started out at 42 psi cold and dropped to 38 psi with little or no effect.
John Travolta has a big plane.
All runs were at ludicrous plus with suspension set to low
