Weird multi-driver problem

My wife and I both drive our Model 3. I use the phone app, she uses her key card. Recently she drove me to her destination, and after she got out I shifted into the drivers seat, aiming to drive off. Well, that didn't happen. The car didn't move and kept asking for the key card. Which was in the wallet of my wife, who was dissappearing in the distance. I tried various thing to make the car understand that I was a legitimate driver, but it wouldn't surrender. In the end I had to step out, walk away to cause the Tesla to close, then walk up to it and get in again. That felt very odd to me. Why didn't the car detect my phone?

For me, my phone needs about 1 full minute for the car to notice my phone is near by.

So if i pause at my door for about 1 mins, it works everytime.

Normally it works great in my case. I can just walk up and it opens instantly. That's why I wondered about this weird behaviour.
