FWIW I just got my replacement NEMA 14-30 adapter today (box labelled as NHTSA recall) with a return FedEx mailer inside---they do want the old ones back.

The recalled one is the one that would be more dangerous. The non-recalled one would be the newer replacement that Tesla has been shipping out recently.

Yes. Wouldn't non-recalled be the new gray ones? The older black ones were recalled. It sounds to me that the OP wants one of the new gray ones that replaced the older recalled ones.

I had two of the black recalled ones but sold one a while back. I'm still waiting for replacements for one recalled 14-30 and one recalled 10-30 adapter.

wow...my engrish must be really bad cause i'm reading it the exact opposite way, hence my original question..
